M1A and a 1911. I didn't much care for the AR-type rifles back then, although I kinda liked the AR-180's. If you can believe this they were selling them at J.C. Penney back in the 70's.

SP-1 or FAL and a GI 1911A1. Depends on the terrain- SP-1 for Missouri, FAL for AZ/NM/NV.

the S&W Model 59 was around. They came out in 1971. They're actually the VERY FIRST Wondernine You get to learn something new today! Specifications
Length 20.3 cm Barrel length 11.5 cm Cartridge 9×19mm Parabellum Action Delayed-blowback Feed system 15 rounds (standard-capacity magazine), +1 in chamber, 20 rounds (extended magazine) The MAB PA-15 (Pistolet Automatique 15, also known as the P-15 or P.15 Standard) was designed by the Manufacture d'armes de Bayonne. The model number, 15, refers to the magazine capacity. When introduced, this was the first pistol holding a greater number of rounds than the 13-round Browning Hi-Power. The PA-15 was introduced in 1966.... ETA-I always thought it was the Browning High Power, for some 2 extra rounds is 9mm Steroids. ETAA- Browning High-Power and an M-14 with all the right switches. |

M-1 Carbine 1911 Government Model |

What I already have, AR-180 and a Smith M-13-2 (which would have been brand new to market in 77 no less).

What I had shortly after 1977 changed to 1978; AR-15 Sporter and either my Model 29 or Model 39. I still have that combination today, along with the 879 Police model I added to my collection before the end of 1978.
