If you zoomed in and put a dot on your screen with a dry erase marker the AWP was a beast with one shot kills without zooming in.

Yeah one of those is on my "buy" list.  But I'd rather it in .300WM or .338 if I'm honest.

That said, haven't these been available for years?  I could swear you could just go on Gunbroker a few years ago and buy one.

What this "only 10" stuff?

EDIT: just saw you were in Britain.  Is this a UK rarity thing?

What makes it particularly appropriate for arctic warfare,  minimal Pic rail so it doesn't snag on the snow?
A hand warmer pocket in the cheekpiece?  Green?

Nice rifle.
I loved playing that map in Counter Strike! Man, that was a long time ago...

300 WM..is perfect for that. 338 or 416 is just to much $$$ and tough to source.

Well there's about $1,300 just in the case, mags, and accoutrements.

What do you do with a super accurate 14 pound rifle? Maybe if there were more decent 600 yard plus ranges around here or I lived out west

You shoot tiny groups and/or far-away targets.

If you don't live in a place where long range shots are possible, it doesn't make sense.

There are several folks out here in MT who shoot steel targets at one mile and beyond on a regular basis.

You could go into immigration law and cement contracting on the side...

Forget that move to Utah and go into drunk driving law...booming business there soon I bet...

Well, if you couldn't own an AR then this would be awesome!

Oh, sorry!

I work in the industry and the last rifle/optic package I sold was $8,900.

That was just a nice lightweight 1,000yd-capable hunting rifle.  There's a .408 CheyTac waiting to be finished and the bill on that one is around $14,000 (but it has a suppressor, ammo, etc. that add quite a bit to the cost).

There are a lot of serious long range shooters in this part of the country.

Not sure why anyone would want to buy a new production AW when you can get a virtually-identical AT for far less money...

Damn! Upstate Ny is kind of a cheapskate gun area. There are some guys with big money shotguns for trap and skeet and bird hunting, but not a lot of stuff like that. I know guys who make decent six figures who still hunt with beat up rem 700s and wal mart scopes.

I guess with ATVs running $ 10k and trucks costing $ 50k a $ 10k rifle-I don't know, I probably have a bunch of junk I never shoot that cost $ 10k if I added up guns, mags etc, but still seems tough to swallow

If I bought one it would be tough to swallow not to mention walk without a couple of canes and a seeing eye dog.

The AW series is iconic.  It's been in more games than I can count (for one), and lots of people get started off them.  Hell, I was a huge Counter-Strike fan.

It's influenced me to buy a few machineguns, suppressors, etc.

The new one may be better and cheaper.  I'd still rather have the one I grew up with, so to speak

I might have to PM you for details, though I suspect this is probably only for overseas customers?

Any idea if the last one is set up like this one?
