This Is What F-22 Engine Startup Sounds Like |
Watching them do fake dogfights over Pogo Mine, Alaska and shooting off countermeasures whenever they had a lock was so fucking cool.
Aside from the APU start, that's pretty weak. That aircraft has one of the most distinctive ground-idle / taxi sounds imaginable, and none of that was captured in the video? Weak sauce.

Is the APU a 4 cylinder Mercedes diesel from the 1980's? Cause it reminds me of my '82 240D starting.

They seem like they're the size of an F-15 watching them out of Tyndall. They seem to just float when landing. I guess that's thrust vectoring.
I saw that in my feed and considered posting it here but figured I would be duping.
Coolest jet on the planet. |

Smoking like tat when starting, the valve stem seals are shot. Take it in for warranty service.

Why couldn't we have built more F22's instead of the F35? View Quote A better question is why was the first time we used the most amazing air superiority fighter in the history of mankind in anger, it was doing multi-role strike against cave men. |

The F-35 is a much more capable aircraft. And 3 different planes. I have a video I took when one taxied past me about 15 feet away then turned so I was staring at her back end.
It was amazing. Not posting it because I'm in it and someone says my name a few times. |
