Wife and I have so many kids together that I assign them numbers.
She wants to take them all on a 4 day weekend 6 hours away. I have no problem with it BUT I insist on taking at least one child if not two. Tried to explain to her that I don't want all my eggs in one basket and I not only don't trust her driving but others worry me more. The two youngest would have a blast with me without the rest of the family idk why the wife insists on taking them. Am I nuts? |

There is a time for family fun outings and a time for date night. If not, make some time.

The OP is talking about keeping one or two away to ensure continuity of family. Not quiet.

If you trust her with your kids then maybe YOU SHOULD STOP MAKING BABIES WITH HER.

Why the fuck would you do that? And not only that but decided to have kids, multiple multiple children, with this person? |

So just how many kids are we talking about here?

Do you have inlaws or siblings or grand parents that can watch the youngest?

2 vehicles doubles the chances that your family gets hit by a semi.

Yeah, but what if you're the one who's gonna die. From an undetected gas leak/explosion, home invasion, fire, airplane crashing into your house, etc.. Now you'll be taking two kids with you instead of just yourself.

If you don't trust her driving why do you let any of them ride with her? Only the ones you don't love?
Let her take them and enjoy the quiet. |

I've been drinking after a long day in the sun preceded by far too little sleep and this still sounds fucked up to me....

Every summer for many years my wife would take all our daughters on a road trip to visit family. Seattle, SF Bay Area, Las Vegas, and back via Portland. She'd be gone 12-18 days. It was fantastic.
"Not only don't trust her driving..." is a problem. If she's a poor driver, that can likely be fixed with training just like many other skill deficits. If it's fear of the worst on your part, that can also be addressed. |

You're crazy. Let her take em all and enjoy a weekend alone. If you have had that many, you probably need a vacation anyways.

Sitting here watching TV but still thinking about this thread. So what's the plan OP? Pick the two "best" to stay with you?
|
|
If the kids are insured, let 'em go with the wife.
If anything happens you can always have more, and there's a chance they'll even be good looking! |

Well, we're crazy to have gotten married in the first place.
But you thinking of "all the eggs in one basket" isn't too out there. My family, when flying across the Pacific, would take 4 different flights. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
