and it was fun flick!
Wasn't sure how it would end, but I wasn't exactly expecting it to end the way it did. Edited to remove "***BREAKING!!!***" from the title - HS |

I disliked the original, but this one was much better. Held my attention for sure and the ending was a huge, albeit crazy and ridiculous, shocker.

I kind of feel like I watched the entire thing through the trailer...
Does it make sense to see the first movie or can you see this one and not be completely lost?
Yeah, that movie was pretty damn outstanding in my book.
I literally had no idea what was going to happen next and John Goodman was great! It also appeals to anyone that has bunker / prepper fantasies. |
Is this movie somehow related to the Cloverfield monster movie?

I thought it sucked. The end left me with "this is fucking stupid"
Same sort of disappointment you get with every M Night shamalamadingdong movie |

Saw it in the theater. I liked it. Didn't expect that ending either.

I thought the trailer made it look good. Then I was blown away when it was even better than the trailer portrayed.

I was disappointed, but I like big monster movies like the original Cloverfield. So the whole time, I was waiting for some big shit to pop off, but it never did. I give it a big ol' "Meh", in terms of it being a Cloverfield film (and yes, it is supposed to be connected to the original, go look it up). As a standalone film, it was alright.

I saw it. Don't need to see it again. Quite the ride down the psycho rabbit hole. Was the idea at the end that the radio broadcast was a fake, and she was driving into a trap? I like me some humans fight back movies. Big fan of Battle: Los Angeles. Not so much a fan of 10 Cloverfield.

Not as good as the 6th sense tho. I liked the movie. For me the ending was expected considering I saw the first movie. |
You got the feeling it could have gone one of both ways... either john goodman was a psycho or shit was really happening....not both.
whoops...did i just spoil it? |
I liked it, but thought the ending was a little weak.
it's a stand alone film, no need to watch Cloverfield. |

My wife and kids and I all loved the shelter/bunker.
I really want to build something like that and I have the remote property to do it. |

Boring till the last 10 minutes....then wow !..... View Quote I thought the opposite. The ending wasn't terrible, but the way she dispatched the creature at the end was straight out of a cartoon. It almost felt tacked on. A big shift from the "grounded in reality" tone of the rest of the film. |
Why is it that people who prepare for disasters are always portrayed as crazy in movies....but their planning ends up saving people???
I'll probably skip it, I read the entire plot line about the movie already.

The ending ruined it for me. Unrealistic stupidity in an otherwise plausible story-line.

Hypnotizing. |

And then when Goodman named off a couple scenarios........Oh, so that's how this is going to end....... |

It was ok. The ending was hard to see it was so dark. Not bad for a low budget flick though.

I just got done watching it at the recommendation of a few friends. I kept wanting to like it, I really did. But when it ended I ultimately think I hated it... edit - will agree with the other folks in this thread in saying John Goodman was pretty amazing in this movie though. |

Had it not been called cloverfield and alluded to as an in-universe film, I think I would have liked it a lot more.
I was really hoping that half the movie was bunker and the 2nd half was going to be cloverfield having made its way inland. |

I almost rented that 2 weeks ago at the Red Box. I'll have to rent it this weekend.
