If you had to disable one or more rifles, so someone else couldn't come along and use them, what would you do?
Think walking dead, SHTF, whatever. 3 minute time limit. Anyone who says take them all with you, fuck off for being to stupid to understand hypothetical questions. I'm thinking lock tite the bolt in the chamber, would be the fastest and easiest. |

Take out BCGs.
Remove firing pins. Edit: Beat while writing response. |

firing pins likely easier is my guess, unless crowds have firing pins with them View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Insert something in the bbl that's hard to remove and not noticeable unless you run a rod or snake. 99% of the retards who pick it up wont even bother checking before slapping in a mag.
Added benefit of possibly killing your bad guy in the process. |
Take out the BCG, bring it with you? Added benefit of spare parts.
Or you could just shoot a couple holes in the receiver if you wanted to be really fast about it, I guess. |
lay upper on concrete w/o bcg. One good whack on the upper with hammer should take care of it
Kinda had to use the rifle if you don't have a charging handle
I don't think taking the bcg disables it. Too prevelant, too easy to get one.
I like the smash the upper receiver idea. |
Say 10 rifles? I've already picked out my backup rifle? 3 minutes?
Take all the BCGs with me. I'll likely have a crowbar, so a couple whacks per lower oughta do it. Strip what I need for spare parts off the BCGs and chuck the rest of them as fer as I can throw 'em while walking away. Optics if I have time. |

Line em up leaning on a curb and run over them with your tank
Cover a spent case in JB weld and chamber it; or a live round if you put some in front of it. KABOOM.
lean it up against a tree or wall and give it a little stomp at the receiver / receiver extension junction..... |
I first thought to remove the firing pin as well but really just push out the trigger and hammer pins with anything might be faster.

Bad news for the cam pin. Just remove BCG. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Agree. If you have the BCG out to remove the firing pin anyways, you might as well chuck it into the river. This is a timed event. |

Quoted: I'm thinking lock tite the bolt in the chamber, would be the fastest and easiest. View Quote Here's an idea...have special squib loads to obstruct the bore? You could have a round chambered in each gun...just pull the trigger before you leave. |
Pull the bolt carrier, and put it in your pocket? Should take 20 seconds at most.
Yeah just take the Bolt Carrier Group and toss it in the weeds; takes seconds.
Don't disable it you may need it at some point
Burry in garden. Have so thing in place like a watertight plastic box. Dump, cover with dirt leave. |
Charging handle might be a good one for someone not familiar with the rifle. However, I could have one functioning in a matter of seconds without the charging handle. |
Would removing the buffer or buffer spring make the gun a single shot gun with a hole in the shooters shoulder?
You could just whang the barrel against a rock. That should cause it to jam and possibly overpressurize. Or just smash the upper receiver with a rock.
Pull the bolts or drive out the fcg pins and take it with you.
Dent the magwell and take the BCG. Disassemble and scatter the parts as you go.
