I miss all my dogs.
When they get old we confront the fact they won't be here forever, but that is just as true when they are young - it's just not as obvious. Like my vet tells me about my old dog, 'Every day is a lifetime.' |

Dogs go to place where there are lots of squirrels to chase, lakes to swim in, and pick up trucks to ride in.

Since the christian doctrine has stated many times, only souls go to heaven and animals have no souls, there isn't a place in heaven for dogs.
If dogs can't get in, I don't need to go either. |

My dog picks up on when we're sick or sad. She will jump up on the couch and put her head on our shoulders or lap. She will stay with us inside or outside. Also, dogs get sad. When we had our husky and elkhound, the elkie was 5 years older than him. When he died our husky was heartbroken. He would lie in the exact places the elkie would sleep, and the sadness on his face was just terrible.
I love all my dogs, past and present. |

It is said that mammals know when it is their time to die, so they separate themselves from the pack, go off somewhere to sleep and then die.
I believe its the same for our dogs and cats, but we just don't let them out of our circle, nor should we. Dogs are especially amazing, they are happy everyday no matter how shitty our situation. Mine just turned 9, I am going to miss him someday. |
