2007 for me, 1978 Colt SP1 that I paid for on my second deployment and picked up at my Grandpa's LGS in PA when I got home to the states that fall

2012, three months before obamas re-election for my 19th birthday.
ETA: it was a gen1 stag arms model 3. Payed a bit more than o should have for it brand new, and it came with the non free floated diamond head rail. |

I bought a stripped lower in 2008. It took over a year to turn it into a complete rifle.
I've never purchased a complete AR-15. |

Jan. 2005 I bought an A2 style M4gery Bushmaster. Still have it.

A couple hours after i registered here. Came here to do research but couldn't get any useful info out of the search feature. Went to a gun show and came home with a m&p15 for 750.00. Its not the sport model as it came with forward assist.

2007 DPMS spotter sold it six months later after catching a piece of hot brass between my jacket and neck and got a Bushmaster xm15. After that I caught the BRD bad and it has been down hill since.

I built one sometime around 2007-2008. I still have it but have several more now.

Shortly after the Clinton ban. Had a bit of a hard time finding one, pounced an HB Bushmaster in spring of 2005 for (IIRC) $750.

2002 I think? It was my first gun. 20 inch Bushmaster A2 with that god awful mini-y comp.
It was like $800-850.. I forget. |

2004 I bought a stripped lower and after the AWB sunset a friend of mine built me a basic AR, it shot well but I sold it a year or so later. I then got back into the AR world around 2006 and have been addicted since.

1985. An A1 with triangle stock. From a surplus kit and a lower from who knows where. The butt still had numbers stenciled on it.

'98 or '99, I forget.
A Bushmaster Dissipator. I put triangular hand guards on it. I sold it eventually because it didn't have a flash suppressor. |

July 1994. I was 22 at the time and swept up in the panic buying before the AWB went into effect. It was an old Palmetto Armory billet lower with a Colt SP1 carbine upper. Think I paid $950 for it.

Colt Sporter Target HBAR on Oahu, HI in 1991 when I was stationed there in the Army. $600.

Late 90's , colt 6600 hbar with a no fence lower. Used preban a steal at the time for $600 private sale. Sold it during hard times later got a bushmaster dcm, damn that gun would shoot. Pimped it out delta style . Heavy as fuck , rebuilt it as a carbine pre ban style during the ban ,naughty me. Still have it, and others. Thank god for the sunset.

2003 a week after moving from California to Nevada. It was during the ban so it was a post ban one, Rock River arms, Still have the lower, sold off the upper once the ban expired and got the correct non ban upper :)
Since then, I have either built or bought many many more. |

My dad gave me my first AR in 2002 when I was 10. Bought/built my first in 2012 just a couple months before Sandy Hook. Joined here about that same time.
Eta bought an AR 10 in 2011. |

Sold it in 2010 for an HK, rebought an AR in 2011, a Rock River, and have been adding them since. |
