ETA: it was a gen1 stag arms model 3. Payed a bit more than o should have for it brand new, and it came with the non free floated diamond head rail.

I bought a stripped lower in 2008. It took over a year to turn it into a complete rifle.

I've never purchased a complete AR-15.

2004 I bought a stripped lower and after the AWB sunset a friend of mine built me a basic AR, it shot well but I sold it a year or so later. I then got back into the AR world around 2006 and have been addicted since.

2005. Still have it. My trusty little Spike's ST15 has gone through so many evolutions; from 16" CAR too 16" Middy to 14.5" Middy (with perm attached ST Compressor), then eventually registered and now is my 10.5"/11.5" /14.5" "Jack of All Trades" rifle.

July 1994.  I was 22 at the time and swept up in the panic buying before the AWB went into effect.  It was an old Palmetto Armory billet lower with a Colt SP1 carbine upper.  Think I paid $950 for it.
