Hey, dipshit, enjoy your grass salad and roadkill bone marrow soup!

Dresnok just comes across as a slimy, disgusting SOB worthy of nothing but disgust even in his old age.
A slightly shocking thing about the "defectors" is that none of them did so for ideological reasons. A not so shocking thing is that between Abshier,Jenkins,Dresnok and most of those captured in Korea who elected not to return the common denominator is lack of education. IIRC a third of those captured and turned by propaganda had never attended, let alone finished, high school. |

Fuck that guy, fuck that country, fuck communism!
Defect to north korea? Not just no, not even hell no, but no fucking way in hell! |

Standing in the JSA was close enough to the communist cesspool for me. Tell me why bernie is doing so well?

IIRC near the end of the film there is a lot of footage of Dresnok living in NK around 2006. It is very depressing and despite being in the capital (the only city which has anything close to modern standards), Pyongyang, his life seems empty and boring. Then to top if off he shills for NK's government healthcare and food rations and says something like "the government will take care of me until my dying day".
|
|
Dresnok seems to have a unique talent for taking a bad situation and making it far, far worse.
I don't know what I could wish on him that would be worse that the life he's created. |
|
I sincerely hope he pissed off someone enough to wind up standing in a field 200 yards away from a mortar team.

The irony of people who become socialist propaganda instruments is that they are treated special compared to the rest of their fellow people.
|
|
Bernie and his minions should also try it.
"To people in the West? Why? Why do they let their own people starve to death, to feed an American? The Great Leader has given us special solicity. Like I said before. The Government is going to take care of me until my dying day." Aloha, Mark |

This got me wondering if these wastes of life would defect to NK if anyone ever defected to the VC. Suprisingly a few did. WTF.

Looks like he splits Best Korea's food production equally with Dear Leader.

I wish all the other traitors would defect and go live in North Korea. |

I watched this last night and fell asleep just before the end. Very interesting film, thanks for posting it.

"The government is going to take care of me until my dying day," he tells the documentary team. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6267645.stm From the article in this link... A joint bid for asylum at the Soviet embassy in 1966 was rejected and the four were forced to undergo intense re-education, which included learning North Korea's official Juche ideology. I am torn...for every 21-year-old person who has his or her shit together, there are many more who have done stupid things they have come to regret, and/or learned valuable life lessons from (especially in light of our culture's current propensity to treat people in their 20s like teenagers, so some "kids" take far longer to grow up than others do). He defected when he was 21, after getting a few hard knocks in his personal life. It sounds like he soon realized what a grave error he had made, and tried to get out, but was unable to. He then had to endure a "reeducation," which was probably unpleasant (at best!), and then decided to basically make the best of the mess he made out of his life. I have a shred of compassion for him, but it is mostly drowned out by a stronger unsympathetic slant toward "he made his bed...and actions have consequences." If nothing else, he serves as a good cautionary tale. Be careful what you wish for indeed! |

I don't think that guy really thought his career move through as well as he could have.

One of them finally came back in the 90's. Went to trial and got 30 day prison sentence.

Of all the dumbass shit you could possibly do, what would possess a man to defect to North Korea?

This SFC thought East Germany would be a communist Disneyland and went there after WWII; ended up as a dissident there about ten years later.
