Just swapped a few of my watches over to NATO straps. They feel so much better than the metal bands..

Any one else here a fan?

Funny you should ask.

My wife just gifted me a Tudor Black Bay literally 45 minutes ago - I'm thinking of swapping out the distressed leather for the included NATO type strap.

I don't have one of those little pin extractor tool things so I'm hesitating.

crown and buckle has good ones.

the premium line with low pro keepers are my personal favorite for a "NATO".

My go to however, is the RAF strap from natostrap co. much less bulk.

Metal bands only please.  Tried nato straps for a bit - just not for me.  Same way I like leather belts and not stuff like a Wilderness instructor belt.

I like them. Granted I just have a $10 one off Amazon.

Just my LUM-TEC Combat B1. I don't wear it as much as I should though...

I like mine, I have a hairy arm so metal bands suck. I switched every watch over to NATO bands except for my dressiest one, left that one stainless.

I get mine from County Comm.

I like the extra long ones so you can wear your watch over winter clothing.

That's the only time I use them.

I went through 2 leather bands in 18 months, switched to a cheap nato strap so I could wear it until I could order another leather. Decided to just keep the nato.

They're cool and all but wait awhile until the body oils and sweat build up and suddenly they're not so cool anymore.  Ask me how I know!  They end up smelling like old pennies so you throw them in a box somewhere and a couple years later you find them and they're frosty with mold and fungus...

I bought a three ring OD green Luminox band for my Seiko 5 Sports and like it.

The guy I bought it from had given me a different band than the stock OD green one.

Shower with them, or throw them in the washing machine.

My nicer watches are bracelets only. I tried natos and a couple rubber straps and it just looked and felt meh.

My G-Shock on the other hand, nato 24/7.

I like the dagaz watches.  Rather than buying a 007 and moding it, I might just buy one of the customs.  I plan on keeping my 009 stock.

Almost all my watches have NATO bands.

I loop em thru my belt loops when I wash my jeans.  They stay clean that way.

Same here! Love the zulu - strap for days.  I do have a question: The zulu has an extra strap that runs underneath the watch that's sewn to the main strap and terminates with two additional metal loops that the main strap goes through doubling the band under the watch.  Does anybody know what that's used for?

The zulu is great for big wrists and even better for wearing the watch over gloves, wet suits, ski jackets etc.

OP: there's only one drawback to nato straps and that is after a month of wear you'll start to smell what you think is your own feet.   just toss the band in the wash with a load of clothes and you're back in business.

Yep... Love the zulu style on my Seiko diver, can't deal with the mildew smell. I'm constantly around the water, and usually don't take my watch off to shower.  As a result, zulu band is way too funky for me, and my countycomm sourced bands sit in the drawer while I wear the regular rubber band.

Easy. Strap it to a belt loop when you throw your pants in the wash.

Just make sure you take the watch off first.

That is the 5 ring Zulu.  You can get a 3 ring Zulu to keep things thinner.  The Zulus usually have the heavy duty rings too.  I have a leather Nato Zulu for my Maratac.

I have to use plastic/rubber.  Any type of fabric soaks the sweat and it starts smelling NASTY after a while.  Even after washing.
