Coincidentally, I was a friends house for dinner last night and he gave me some kind of hard root beer. I assume that is what this thread is about.
I liked it. I don’t think I would ever drink more than 1.....pretty sugary. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3-4 sips but I had to choke down the rest.
Works better as a shot.

I had that in Tx. It was good.
Im on my 5th Coney Island Brewing Company hard root beer. A little stiffer than Not Your Father's Root Beer. |

It's called Not Your Father's Rootbeer because if were truthful and called it Your Grandma's Sweaty Asscrack Rootbeer it would not sell well. Nasty stuff.

I looked for that stuff for a while with anticipation. My brother actually found some at the BX and brought it over.
Wow, it was terrible. I was only able to get down half a bottle. I like beer as much as the next guy and really like good root beer (Red Hare, Abita, Dad's). That stuff is just gross. I'll keep my beer and root beer separate. |

I tried one last week and liked it. Bought a sixer today to drink while I was smoking a pork butt. After the third one I didn't really care for them anymore. I think it would be good to just have one at dinner or something, but beyond that too sweet.

Supposedly they expect that you will pour it swiftly into a glass full of ice. That will create a foamy head and cut the syrupy sweetness.
I tried a bottle once. I got 1/4 through and called it. It is better used as a pork braising liquid, IMO than a drink. |

I had a root beer float for dessert last night using this stuff. It was tasty. It also probably gave me diabetes. It's insanely sugary. The vanilla ice cream didn't help that.

I tried it. Had so much gas in my belly it poked out likebi was pregnant. Was in absolute pain after drinking one. Gave the rest to a coworker. I guess my stomach didn't like all the sugar. Then again I have IBS
