BMW F800GSA.
I bought mine new, 2015, in desert tan. It tours, does some decent off roading, great range, acceptable handling for mountain roads. All around excellent bike, not sure I would have preferred the 1200 at this point. |

I recently bought a Yamaha FJR, surprising to me how quick it is, 0-60 in less than 3 seconds and its heavy. I would describe it as a cruze missile. Ducati's are hella cool, but the reliability and parts puts me off, too exotic. I am all about reliability.

KLR. A lot of fancier options out there that i would like to have but my KLR took me coast to coast here and then to south america with minimal problems. Plus you dont care when it gets all dirty and scratched up.

Don't most motorcycle owners only have one anyways? Of course. Like I said, most. |

Whatever the latest and greatest iteration of the BMW GS1200R is these days.

I have a plated dirt bike and a mid size sport/touring bike, but do most of my riding in town for commuting and running errands.
I keep thinking of selling them both and getting a KTM Duke 390. |

Don't most motorcycle owners only have one anyways? View Quote I have 2, a Harley Ultra Classic and a BMW R1200 GS, have had as many as 4 but thinned the herd to my 2 favorites. Of those 2 my BMW is the most capable and versatile. I tested an 800GS but it had nowhere near the torque of the 1200 so I passed, it is much lighter but once your rolling it doesn't make much difference. The R1200GSA is too tall for me, it must be made for 6'7" Germans with 40 inch inseams. |

Well I am a fan of my Ellsworth and my diamondback with full dura ace, but the ellsworth brings me much more joy until I am on mountain roads, I say fuck it, I keep both.

What would it be? I like sport touring bikes so I would get a new Ducati Multistrada. Fast, handles well and you can ride it all day without your ass falling asleep and feeling like you lost a fight. http://mts1200.info/attachments/ducati_multistrada_1200_red-jpg.205/ http://motorcyclerentalitaly.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/P2091629.jpg I really like it in black. https://cdn.rideapart.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/ducati-multistrada-7.jpg What would you guys have if you could chose only 1 bike? View Quote Just one? You nailed it. After owning a S2R1000, another Ducati is definitely in my future |

Faced with that exact dilemma last year, I chose the DL650. I don't know that there's any bike that's more versatile & reliable, and gives you more bang for the buck.
It's done some pretty crappy trails, long highway trips, back roads and 2-up cruising and just keeps on getting it done. Everything else is either biased one way or the other more than my liking, or more expensive, or fickle. I've had a garage full of bikes at various points, but I can't keep more than one right now, and the Wee does everything I ask it to and I'm willing to test those limits. |

Oh, man, tough decision. Assuming we're talking about bikes I can actually afford, the Indian Scout or the Ducati Scrambler would at the top of my list.
But that list also includes a Star Bolt C, Harley 48, Triumph Thruxton, Ducati Monster, even the Honda CTX700. I guess I'm too old for sportbikes. |

Quoted: The one I already have: Kawasaki Concours C14. It's equally at home droning along the interstates two-up, having fun in the twisties, or anything in-between. Engine is a beast that can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds but delivers power smoothly across the rev range and doesn't take off without provocation. I can't think of much it can't do, and do well, except for off-road. http://s30.postimg.org/bjgqj4xbl/C14.jpg View Quote |

Thats my old bike. Solid choice, I miss it. The seat sucked though, and the suspension could use some work. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

F800 GS Adventure That's what is keeping me from buying one. I test drove two and borrowed a friend's for a weekend, and I don't feel like dropping car money on a bike that will ruin my back and nuts. |
