FX has slotted the second-season premiere of vampire drama series The Strain for July 12 at 10 PM. Based on the best-selling The Strain Trilogy by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, The Strain tells the story of Dr. Goodweather, the head of the Centers for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers wage war for the fate of humanity. As Season 2 unfolds, the transformation has begun. New York City is rapidly falling to an evil epidemic, and no one is coming to its rescue. Looks like the "feelers" make their debut in tonight's episode. From the brief clips I've seen they don't look like children though.

Decent episode. I always like the backstory about how it all started. I don't get how this thing is spreading everywhere but somehow New York is still functioning enough to a degree where they can have press conferences. Part with the children was creepy.
