Thing that kills me is that there are NO people on our side that write and point out the extremism on the left or at least refute this bull shit.

I don't know where to start.

The federal government's power has expanded since 1995 to the point it controlled 2 of the Big Three auto companies and now the health insurance industry.

Where's the resistance for this in the GOP?  There does not appear to be any, despite controlling Congress.  If the SCOTUS rules in favor of Harbig this June, the REPUBLICANS in Congress have sworn to step in and replace those subsidies in states that refused to set up exchanges and let the feds do it.  They want to SAVE Obamacare.

The impetus to rein in the power and scope of the federal government in the GOP  is dead dead dead.

Don't forget the banks.

When we have a POTUS who routinely commits impeachable offenses,  nothing is said.

A new AG who testified in her conformation hearing that she WILL violate federal laws. And still 51 RINOs vote in her favor.

What fucking difference, at this point, does it make?

Mcveigh wasn't republican or conservative.

Those types would be big .gov national socialist style if they got in power.

Conservative republican means smaller .gov.  Unfortunately most people in power in the Rep party aren't conservative.

Works.

But in their circles Ayres is a hero of the cause.

I always thought of McVeigh as more of the Sovereign citizen type. IIRC, they despise any and all political parties.

But the left runs the information game so guys like McVeigh, Hitler and various serial killers and mass shooters all get to be "ours".
Doesn't matter who is right, it matters who the people believe.

Yet another classic Couch-Cominkey post.

Because everyone who dares criticize his precious government really wants to blow up buildings and kill over 100 of his or her fellow citizens, including many children. We are all nothing but bloodthirsty buffoons. In addition to being like McVeigh, we are like Nazis, too, most likely. We all wear T-shirts with the likeness of Timothy McVeigh, without a doubt. He is our hero, after all.

Supporting the un-molested original constitution is by definition anti government.

There's not nessesarily anything wrong with being anti-government, but the aversion to the label is silly.

Own it.

If I tell someone they should eat healthier food and watch their calorie intake, does that mean I'm anti-food? Of course not. Likewise, wanting a limited government does not make one anti-government.

There are people who would infringe upon our liberties and the government can protect us from those people... unfortunately, that government also consists of people who can be just as much of a threat. For that reason, government can't be allowed to become some omnipresent, unrestricted entity.

Holy shit dude did you wake up with a giant iron rod up your ass this morning? Feeling like going marching?

No one is saying the American right is on some kind of kill bender.

The article talks about how anti-gov views, not actions, have become even more mainstream right whereas before they were more on the fringes e.g. McVeigh.

"Twenty years ago, the idea of anti-government resistance seemed confined to a lunatic fringe operating in the shadows beyond the mainstream. Twenty years later, it is the mainstream, the beating heart of the Republican Party. And while certainly no responsible figure on the right advocates or condones what he did, it is just as certain that McVeigh's violent antipathy toward Washington, his conviction that America's government is America's enemy, has bound itself to the very DNA of modern conservatism."

The right is anti government. The right taps anti gov rhetoric constantly in addressing its supporters. It's obvious. Your ridiculous gyrations and absurd accusations of Bolshevism aren't going to change it.

You're saying "limiting gov powers" as though it's a bad thing.  That's what the Constitution was intended to do, list the specific powers that the federal government is authorized to exercise.

And they aren't mutually exclusive either.

You can twirl all around the pole until you pass out, but it does not change the fact that virulent anti-government sentiment has become a bread and butter thing for the right.

No one is completely against all government save a few freaks. That does not stop the right from producing a shit ton of anti-government rhetoric. It gets votes. It resonates.

Once you address the massive amounts of anti-gov talk on this site, perhaps I will take your argument more seriously.

Ummm... right... except for the right's emphasis on the constitution as limiting gov powers...

Seriously dude, WTF? Do you not notice the sheer volume of seething anti-gov posts here every day?

You're saying "limiting gov powers" as though it's a bad thing. That's what the Constitution was intended to do, list the specific powers that the federal government is authorized to exercise.

As you seem to be implying that it's not, what is your belief on the role of the Constitution?

No, I'm not.

So what do you mean then?  Because you aren't being at all clear.

When is he/she ever?

Which is why we need to send the GOPe a message.  Reign in government or get a new job.

But too many are willing to continue the rest of the bullshit for gay marriage/abortion/ss/etc.  (single issue voters who would sell their souls if only they might get someone who would fight that fight for them, and lose).

Every time I said it in the past I got dogpiled here but I'll say it again. The right, ie Constitution loving Americans will soon be labeled the new domestic terrorist.

I meant exactly what I said:

1. The right emphasizes the Constitution in terms of limiting gov powers.
2. The right uses anti-government rhetoric a whole hell of a lot.

These are not particularly wacky assertions, and each is backed by mountains of evidence in this very forum.

The Constitution is designed to limit the government's powers.
Bringing the government back into line with the enumerated powers and greatly reducing it is something that conservatives believe.

Neither of these are bad things.

So other than tell us facts that are well known what do you actually mean by your post?
