Yep. Between them and Mexico, they suck the Colorado dry. Let's not even discuss where the power goes either.

I was there in 2005 and the water level was almost to the top of those intakes.  What are the hippies going to use to charge their iPhones now?  Perhaps they can set up a small hydro plant to run on liberal tears.

If they are going to let us take their water, they're too Beta to do anything about it.

Don't taunt the alphas.  They may rise up, after they are done installing bullet buttons and shower timers.

Just a few years ago they were bitching about silt build up behind the damn. If they were smart they'd use the lowered water level to dredge.

Actually the truth be told - which for the General Discussion is just short of infuckingpossible ...

California gets most of it's water from ... California.

The Colorado river intake was negotiated by the federal government decades and decades ago and since then another 25 million or so Americans moved into California. Stupid fucks. Well not actually stupid because they made Silicon Valley and have invented everything invented in the US worth caring for in America for the last forty years like the Internet and shit. But they are stupid for not preparing for a one in a thousand year drought unlike the Texan ranchers who ... wait, didn't they lose tens of thousands of cattle two years and one year ago driving the price of beef up by double. Why yes, yes they did.

Lose cattle? What are you talking about? There was no rain, no snow, which means no grass so we sold cattle. We didnt lose shit. We had no place to put them. I know exactly where every one of my cows went.

I had pasture that didnt grow enough for 3 years to put cattle on and most of my neighbors were in the same boat. You cant really prepare for drought when it comes to ranching. My neighbor next door usually averages 1800 head every year. Since 2011 he has raised 200 total. Im not saying California could have or have not prepared for drought bc i dont know but i know we couldnt here. I work primarily in the dairy industry where water requirements are huge. Water is and always will be our biggest problem here. Beat the water and feed market and you wont go bankrupt.

Do you own water rights on the Colorado River?

If you do, you could sell them there.

I am surprised no one has suggested tapping the great lakes and running a pipe line over the Mississippi river to do so.
