The reason I am considering this is because the Roush is not very kid friendly. It is somewhat of a chore to drive and with me driving I go through a tank of premium a week.  The Lexus is older but it's loaded. So is my Roush but its apples to oranges in the luxury department.  Payment would be about the same.  My Roush is faster.  ISF is a dream to drive. 8 speed auto. It is very smooth. The ISF I am looking at has upgrades. Intake, exhaust, tune, carbon fiber lip, rear diffuser, kick plates and wing.  The Lexus will get slightly better mileage.  Lexus customer service is amazing.  ISF has 63k miles.  Before I bought my Roush I was looking for an ISF. I just could not find one priced right. This one is.

My Roush is gorgeous, rare, fun as hell to drive and again is very fast.

You're going to have a lot more fun if your kids are comfortable and having fun as well.

Are there even tunes for the ISF?  I always thought the ecu was locked down pretty good which was why FI wasn't done on those cars?  I could be wrong though.

Think of the ISF as a very fast family sedan.  The Mustang will be more fun though.   Two different cars.  From what you describe, seems like the ISF would better suit your needs better.

Your very wrong. Its rare because its one of around 5 Lava Red Roush Stage 2s made with this package and options.

Yes kids being comfortable is major factor.

BMW M3....The IS I drove was soulless, don't know about the F. Audi S4 should be in the mix as well.

if the reason is to save gas that's a fallacy, the amount of money spent to switch or lost on depreciation to save a few bucks worth of gas doesn't compute.

Remember back in 2007 when gas first hit $3/gallon, everyone was in shock.  Those with big pick up trucks and SUV's couldn't sell the things, dealers wouldn't take them in for trade as they had a glut of them already.  Owners sold them for pennies on a dollar and bought Prius's feeling smug.

Now we had $3 gas until just a few months ago and big trucks and SUV's are selling like hotcakes, even more briskly with sub $3 gas now

I fell for the hype too.  My 2000 stage 2 automatic vert is 1 of 5.   Doesn't make it valuable.

Drop the rarity angle, and then make your decision.

Drove an ISF down at Toy Barn last year.  Surprisingly quick and a decent note but it lacked the intangibles.   The wow factor was lacking but admittedly I like cars that feel like a kart.

Have you considered a C63 AMG?  Four door luxury for the family but with the muscle you are used to with the Rousch.

I didn't say anything about adding value. Its just a hard to find car. Meaning I won't come across one again.

And for the statements about gas.  It does come down to gas because my payment won't change and I am not coming out of pocket at all. Although its not a huge difference

I would, but I'm not a big Mustang guy and am more into luxury cars.  Having said that, I'd look for something newer.  My 08 car is starting to feel old.

So it would cost $6 more to fill it up.

When we had 2 kids in car seats, I traded a Z28 for a 4 door car. 10 yrs later I bought a Mustang. It hurt, it sucked, I missed the Z but the advantages of 4 doors won out.

Dont know if I would trade for that exact car but a mustang with kids sucks.  So trade the stang or buy a cheap 4 door, like a civic.
