Waste of money? I know you don't really have to aim this weapon, just point it in the generally direction, but I think the optic is cool.  |

I have the 870 barrel with the 3-dot night sights on it.
Optics on an HD shotgun seem awkward to me. |

IMHO, small reflex sights like that are cool on shotguns. The derp begins when people have optics that are large enough to include scope turrets.

Ok, I just got done running the science, and I am happy with my HD choice. Weight: Winner, Halberd.    Reach: Winner, Halberd.  Devestation: Winner, Hablerd. Reliability: Winner, Halberd. Goose shooting: Winner shotgun. Bear killing: Winner Halberd, seen The Edge? Bear gets killed by oldman and stick, Halberd would tear it up! Terrain: Winner, Halberd, can modify terrain. Halberd>Shotgun>AR. The AR was by far the least effective in all the categories of home defense. |

If it's a haLurue need to change the spike out with a PRI spike and drill it out a bit as when being used by Russians there is a problem with cycling it out of the sculls of the enemy. I sent mine back to the factory twice.
