Your preferred duty station looks like a penis.
You trying to tell us something? |

I knew a guy that was at Loran Station Iwo Jima..he said it wasn't bad.
Another I knew was on Guam..loved it !! I think the best I heard was Kodiak AK.........as a GM1 it was one of the most requested billets. I think Ice Breaker duty as a GM was also highly requested. This was back in the 70 and 80 . I did 6 years on a big white ones, 3 years at Group Portland ME....I hated Group Portland with a passion!! My last years at Cape May was tit duty, the ass available during the summer was phenomenal!! |

Guam was fun for 2 weeks. I imagine after 3 years it would get old. My uncle spent time @ China Lake as an engineer. He said you could tell how long someone had been @ China Lake by the number of kids they had.

I always thought Kwajalein would be nice. Great light shows too. http://www.ll.mit.edu/about/images/Kwajalein_CP127-319.jpg http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5f/Peacekeeper-missile-testing.jpg View Quote I was Space A on a Navy KC-130 flight from Hawaii to Okinawa. We spent the night on Kwaj for crew rest. Absolutely beautiful little place but damn, I walked from one side of the island to the other in about 30 minutes. Don't think I could spend more than a few weeks on something that small. |

thread reminds me of an article where Philippine Marines are on duty on a rusted out warship in the middle of nowhere pacific ocean

Sounded like a really cool place to live (for a while). |
