Fuck that, I'd live there.  Turn that into a home.

No one will bother you.

Just need a good internet line in there and I'll be all set.

I knew a guy that was at Loran Station Iwo Jima..he said it wasn't bad.

Another I knew was on Guam..loved it !!

I think the best I heard was Kodiak  AK.........as a GM1 it was one of the most requested billets.

I think Ice Breaker duty as a GM was also highly requested.

This was back in the 70 and 80 .

I did 6 years on a big white ones,  3 years at Group Portland ME....I hated Group Portland with a passion!!

My last years at Cape May was tit duty, the ass available during the summer was phenomenal!!

Guam was fun for 2 weeks.  I imagine after 3 years it would get old.  My uncle spent time @ China Lake as an engineer.  He said you could tell how long someone had been @ China Lake by the number of kids they had.

I was Space A on a Navy KC-130 flight from Hawaii to Okinawa.  We spent the night on Kwaj for crew rest.  Absolutely beautiful little place but damn, I walked from one side of the island to the other in about 30 minutes.  Don't think I could spend more than a few weeks on something that small.

Yup. It's a ledge about 20 feet wide. The first lighthouse washed away, this one has lasted a lot longer.

Nope!  Minot Lighthouse - Cohasset MA.

Of course, it's all automated in 1947.  It's also for sale!

Was assigned as a relief light keeper at one just north of Rockland ME for a year.  It was fun.

This one.

My family (dad and grandfather) lived on Kwajalein for many years - you can probably figure out what they were doing there.  Sounded like a really cool place to live (for a while).
