G29 is the correct answer, but of the choices given, .38 revolver.
|

Why get a .38 or .380 (both are roughly identical ballistically) when you can have a 9mm in the same size envelope (Sig P290, Walther PPS, some Kahr or other, Boberg XR9S) or even a .45 in the same rough size envelope (Detonics, supposedly Boberg's making a pistol in .45 too)

My LCP has been dead on reliable, and I mean not preparing it for range work, just pull out of holster and put all 7 into the target center of mass at 7 yards. Then reload.
That is with daily carry lint after weeks of carry. I should pull more PMCS, at least once a week. But I'm busy. Galco IWB.

Carries a Smith 38.
Bought a Ruger LCP with the Viridian green laser, stopped carrying the Smith. I liked the Smith very much and I'm really a revolver guy but the Ruger is even smaller and just too much easier to shoot accurately with the laser. |

LCP.
Mine is super reliable and weighs 12 ounces full of ammo. Very flat in my right front pocket while holstered in my RKBA leather pocket holster. It's amazingly accurate for what it is. |

S & W 940 here. Works great. I'm shopping for a replacement. Maybe a Sig or a Glock.

Very happy with my M&P .380. I have now retired my tried and trusty Keltec .32. The small 9s are nice CC guns, but none of them are pocket guns. People like to say they are, but no, they are not. They still require a holster and some sort of belt to carry.

S&W 442 Pro here for the majority of the time during warmer months. Fist thin Kydex IWB, Lobo Tom Threepersons belt holster, or no-name pocket holster depending on dress.
Keltec P3AT for the really hot, muggy days. |

Gonna agree with Evil Ed--my Kahr P380 is so small.....but for the size of a .38 S&W, you can have a 9mm Kahr PM9 or other brand pocket 9.
Just a thought.... |

It is slightly fatter than the KT, and gives a much better feel to the grip. It also has real sights. It is not however so much larger that it makes a difference in carry either pocket, or in a pocket on my vest carrier. |

I'll keep my Kahr DAO, thanks. |

SIg P230/232 in .380. Kinda large and heavy, but extremely accurate, even at "long range". Also dead reliable. Far better than Walther.

Quoted: This is my every-day carry. Yes, I know everyone now thinks Critical Defense is little better than throwing marbles at your assailant. I will be switching to HSTs, but haven't had time to hit the range and test them in my S&W. Meanwhile, I still don't think I'd like to get hit with the Hornady bullets at 21 feet. http://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/255788/40639.JPG View Quote |

I have both S&W Bodyguards. The .380 is more concealable and carries 2 more rounds. But I'll grab either one when I'm lazy. I prefer to carry my 1911 or PPQ.

Love my Smith 642 and would recommend it without reservation.
|

|
Of all those guns, the P238 is the only one that isn't shit.
I'd also look at both Colts (Pocketlite and XSP). |
|
I'll take a G 42 over a j frame. I know terminal performance isn't there but it holds more, has better sights, less recoil, better trigger, and is easier to reload. I can actually practice with it and my hand won't hurt afterwards.
|
|
Love my Bodyguard 380. It's a great pocket gun but I can actually hit things with it from a ways out if I want.
|
|
S&W 38-2, 640, 642
I keep trying the small 380's and 9mm's but keep going back to the J frame. |
