why you no buy guns?
October 31, 2014: 9:57 AM ET http://money.cnn.com/2014/10/31/news/companies/sturm-ruger-guns/index.html?iid=Lead There's a glut of guns for sale in America. Gun dealers have overstocked, and now they're just selling off the inventory that they have, without ordering much from manufacturers. Gun sales surged to unprecedented levels following the Newtown massacre of December 2012, driven by concerns about increased federal regulations, particularly against assault rifles. Back then, Americans were buying AR-15s and AK-47s as fast as retailers could get them, pushing up prices and creating shortages of guns and ammo. The stores couldn't order them fast enough. But they over ordered and now there are too many guns sitting on their shelves. |

Salad days.
Also, Fuck CNN for using bullshit terms to describe firearms. |

I'd be glad to help them out, but I'm getting married and remodeling my damn kitchen. You have any idea what a good kitchen remodel costs?!?! It's a couple giggles switches THEN SOME!

Economics 101, supply and demand will go up and down. Buy cheap for rainy days.

It is a buyer's market, but my local shop is still moving some good volume.

Pretty sure somebody called this exact scenario back right after sandy hook. And the next step is that all those little manufacturers are going to go tits up because product isn't moving and the big boys are dropping their prices just to move their product out. Sub 1k Colts are not good news for the little guys.

The thing that's really going to kill the small budget manufacturers is the Ruger AR-556... |

For most of the country there were no new bans so the result was a huge market correction (where we are now). It was one of only two possible outcomes, with the other being a new AWB and prices of pre-ban items continuing to rise indefinitely. |

When I have disposable income again I'll get back into building Ft. Kickass.

Not too worry 30 million freshly minted citizens from Mexico and Latin America will buy these up rather quickly.....imo

Everyone bought everything in 2012 and 2013. Same reason why we have fewer 14ers than 13ers signing up.

waiting for the reloading supply stores to be overstocked on powder

Just waiting for the liberals to seize yet another opportunity to not let any crisis go to waste.

Good, with a little luck I'll be picking up 5 ARs and related accessories in the coming months. I then need more handguns, night vision and ammunition.
My personal firearms acquisitions are inversely proportional to the market.
Ive noticed the price come down and have bought 4 new guns in the last month after taking a 2 year break from buying any new ones. i dont plan to stop as long as the prices stay sane. |
No one has any money. Lot of people lost their insurance and are paying more now.
And yet .22 LR ammo continues to be like the unicorn, Big Foot, and true virgin.
Yep, wake me up when the ammo, and reloading supply shelves start to get a little more than a coating of dust on them. What the fuck are people supposed to with a gun that they can't get ammo for when they don't have time nor money to go chasing the shit around the internet to pay three times what a reasonable price for it is?
It will be nice when ammo prices get back to normal. I have plenty of AR's and ammo. What I need is a lot more 308 ammo and a few more bolt guns.
When prices drop back to more reasonable levels, I'll start buying more stuff. I refuse to pay full MSRP for any gun, especially when MSRP is something stupid high.
Funny it's almost cheaper or it is cheaper to buy new rather than used.

Things will perk right back up again if the mid-terms go poorly. |
