Neighbors angered by home’s Solar Panels
http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2014/10/24/neighbors-bothered-by-north-strabane-homes-large-solar-panels/ Neighbors aren’t happy about a North Strabane Township homeowner’s large installation of solar panels. One neighbor told the Observer-Reporter that she believes there was a mistake made in approving the solar panels, saying, "someone needs to be held accountable.” But township officials say there’s nothing that prohibits solar panels on the property and that everything has been approved "in accordance with the rules and regulations available,” |

Those would have been fine as part of the roof. They look like crap laying out in the yard.
That's why I planted my house square in the middle of 100 acres.

Are these neighbors bitching because they are assholes or are these panels reflecting solar energy into neighboring houses like that Disney theater did in Commiefornia?

I don't see a issue. Looks like good use of wasted space to me.
I'd hate to be the house that gets the reflection off of them though. |

His house...
It's in the back yard for goodness sake! From what I can see, it is not visible from the front of his house. Don't like the look of the neighbor's back yard? Put up a fence! |

I think they look dorky, but there are two positive points:
1. Keeping them clean is going to be a lot easier than a roof mount. and 2. He has less grass to mow. |
I'm so glad the wife and I moved from a stuck up preppy suburb where everyone cares more about how their tans look and how clean their cars are instead of just enjoying life. We now live in the country where neighbors actually walk over to the chain link fence and have a conversation with you. Where everyone has a garden and many have some form of livestock and nobody minds at all! There are no zoning laws and no neighborhood associations and yet everyone gets along. Heck we even shoot fireworks in front of our houses on July 4th.
Let them use their solar panels and get a life already!!! |
Tough shit I say. I do wish my neighbors would rake their leaves though.
Sounds like some of his neighbors need to go join an HOA somewhere.

North Strabane, that's just a couple miles away from where I live. I probably pass that house on my way to work and didn't notice it. I don't see a problem with the installation myself.

A simple privacy fence would fix all the bitchin'.
A matter of fact, it'd probably fix a bunch of things. If you have a neighbor "like that", it's not the first time they've found away to complain about something. |
His yard his rules. Not for me and I think he is an idiot doing that but again not my yard. The city approved it and he went about it the right way. Fun part of having close neighbors.

Minding other people's business.
I just drove a liberal democrat past an apple orchard. She was decrying them having cut down the old trees. They planted a patch with saplings a few years ago to replace them with, but she knew their business better than they did. Then she saw a surveyor and wanted to know what they were surveying for. Etc. Hey guys, it's none of your business. It should not be the governments business either. You don't own it, keep your hands off it. Butting in to something that you don't own is theft. Using the law to get control of it is tyranny. Mind your own business or you will find yourself the target of some other busybody. |

Who the fuck goes to the news about something like this? What a bunch of fags.
I remember a local story around here where someone had a wood fired boiler to heat their home and people bitched to the news about it... Really? People burn wood in the winter to keep warm, the horror! |

"But I have sleep apnea, I'll die if I don't have electricity!" Get bent, asshole. "I'm a diabetic and my insulin as to be refrigerated, can I leave them in your fridge until the power comes back?" Nah, maybe you should go talk to the city about it and see what they'll do for you. God, I'm a vindictive prick in my little mind sometimes..... |

His property, he gets to put up whatever he wants on it. Neighbors don't like it, they can buy his house and take them down.
So solar power has can produce electricity and butthurt?!?! Win.
looks like shit in my opinion, but as it aint my house, I dont have to look at it all day. so zero fucks given.
His house, his land motherfuckers. I wouldn't mind one bit if my neighbor did that.
It's in the back yoard anyway.
If I was the next door neighbor I'd put up a fence and shade the panels if I wanted t be a dick. |
