According to Clive Davis on the Imus show this morning;

Aretha Franklin, followed by Frank Sinatra, then Barbara Streisand, then Whitney Houston.

I disagree with this but he's made tons of money knowing his business.

One of the most ethereal and amazing female voices I've ever heard was Loreena McKennitt, I've seen her live and her voice was flawless...

Audio recording has existed a tiny fraction of the history of our species.

I doubt seriously the "greatest singing voice ever" has been in the last 157 years.

I reckon he's never heard The Fifth Dimension, Billie Holiday, Nora Jones or Alison Krause live.

Yeah, just try and find another artist whose career spanned so many decades, he was enjoyed by people in the 40'S all the way till today.
