If the Pope (or some other significant Christian religious leader) called on Christians to have a crusade, would you join?
And by "crusade", I don't mean the modern protestant "go try to convert people" crusade, I mean a grab-your-sword-and-kill-some-people crusade. ETA: For those of you who aren't Catholic, pick whatever Christian religious leader you'd like. Personally, I don't really care what some old guy in Italy says. |

It would never fly in such a modern progressive world. That's racist!!!

I'm Christian and I don't care what the Pope says. He has no more authority than the average person.
Killing people just because they don't agree with you goes against everything that is Christianity, and I wouldn't have any part of that. Defense is another story. |

Say Bub, I think you've got something here.
But for real counter-jihad, call up the Southern Baptists. |
|
I'm about as anti-papist as Martin Luther, however if the pope called for a crusade I'd go fight. People forget that the crusades were pretty much a defensive war. When they were waged Islam had been spreading by the sword for four centuries. The crusades saved Christendom.

While my DI's tried to tell me it was GOD COUNTRY CORPS
I am firmly a Country Corps Family kinda guy |

Ready to pop the covers off the Pmags as I type this. Bring it......

Where's that pic with the crusader that says something like "excuse me sir, do you have a minute to talk about Jesus Christ?"
|
|
I'm not a Christian but I'd go. The Crusades were always part holy war, part pilgrimage, part penitence, part guilt absolution, part entrepreneurial activity.

Ah Jesus Christ!
If you want to go fight the Arabs then join the Army, or fly to Turkey, take a bus to Iraq and join up with the Peshmerga or the Kurds. You don't need the Pope to call for a crusade. |
|
I'm all for it for the good of mankind. lets just do it the easy way by unleashing about 10 well placed nukes and hit the reset button so nobody fucks with us for at least another 100 years out of fear of what happens when you do fuck with us.
|

Not a Christian.
I am opposed to murder in the name of ANY religion. |
|
invite them over for a porkchop dinner and talk this whole jihad thing over.

Yes.
Form national regiments that reestablish former historic regiments (think of all those defunct famous British regiments for example) under the authority of Vatican City. Build division and corps staffs from experienced retired and seperated officers and NCOs. |

Racism. White Hispanic pope exercising his white Hispanic privilege.

If you wouldn't go to fight a people who are a direct threat to your existence regardless of who calls for it then there is no helping you in life.
ISIS and groups like them need to be dealt with, the longer we let them fester the worse things will get over time. |
|
|
No. It would be UN like and retarded.
We have nukes. Any real crusade would involve nuking them. Otherwise, I don't trust it to be serious about achieving anything |

The only thing that would happen would be excoriation and marginalization by the press.

Protestants are out of luck since there is no such central authority to raise an army and levy war. The Pope is an actual head of state.
Interesting question, but I'll go with John 18:36 36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm.” To me, that seems to rule out religious wars. |

I had a muskrat problem one time. They were burrowing into the dams between the catfish ponds, causing the dams to weaken and collapse. Caused all kinds of damage. A real mess.
I started shooting them. A lot. I would throw the carcasses on the damn to rot. Coyotes and other predators appreciated it, I guess they developed a taste for them too........ When I found a den with babies I killed all of them too, lest they grow up and cause damage. I used bullets, metal traps, and even smoke to drive them out. They haven't been a problem in years now..................... Jus sayn.............. |

I'm an atheist but if the pope called for that I might convert. Do it quick though before I get too old. |

We should probably clean up our own country first. We are being invaded from the south and have our quota of muslims also.

View Quote Christian leaders can still defend their peoples with a clean conscience. Gustavus Adolphus was not sinning when he defended the Reformation against the Papists. God has given the power of the sword to the rulers of the world. They must use that power to defend the innocent. |

ARF would talk a big game, but nobody would show
I would go, but I have to work |
|
Most of the people who would like to go on the crusade have jobs. It would be a problem.
