No word on what prompted the officer to fire the gun. The St. Louis County NAACP said that it wants the FBI to investigate. |

Usually large crowds in urban neighborhoods have more self-control and show more restraint than that. |

Eyewitness, Piaget Crenshaw, 19, was waiting for a ride to work when she said she saw the police officer attempting to place Brown in the rear seat of a squad car. She then observed the teen, hands in the air, attempt to flee. Several shots were fired at Brown as he ran, Crenshaw said, striking him in the head and chest. Crenshaw said police asked and she complied with a request that she turn photos of the scene over to authorities. View Quote |

I'm sure the 'activists' showed to 'calm' the angry mob "As the afternoon wore on, activists, public figures and others arrived on the scene to urge calm." |

This one has potential to get real ugly. It's St. Louis afterall...

South City checking in.
Ferguson is a suburb of St. Louis, in St. Louis County. St. Louis city, FWIW, is not in St. Louis County (it's a weird thing--we're an independent city that's also a county). It's on the north side, which is the bad part of town. I haven't watched the news today (although I read about the shooting today), but I just checked the local channel's websites, and at least for now, it's not happening (except for the normal run of violence that happens on a north side Saturday night). http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/local/2014/08/09/police-shooting-ferguson/13832083/ |

Ferguson might as well be an extension of North St. Louis City, that entire area is a complete shit hole.

I lived in Ferguson till I was 4, then dad spent a lot of money to move us out to west county..
He grew up in Pine Lawn (in the 50s) - then his dad yanked them all the way to Normandy, guess that means St. Ann won't be my final AO? I'm thinking out past Warren County though.. |
