You have probably read about the violence erupting in Europe leveled against Jews, ostensibly because of Israel's attack against Hamas. At first, I thought the antisemitic backlash was only because of that, until I read an article that talked about Jews leaving France that was written in JANUARY of this year. It is frightening to think that this is happening AGAIN, not 70 years after the holocaust.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/07/23/anti-semitic-riots-in-europe-took-us-back-to-1938/ In the past few days, a spate of demonstrations that began as peaceful protests against the Israeli invasion and bombing of the Gaza Strip turned violent. Images show smoke-clogged streets, shattered storefronts and police clad in riot gear. They show dozens of youths, some of them masked, clutching smoke bombs and setting trash fires. And they show hatred. A synagogue was attacked, along with a Jewish owned grocery store. "They were shouting: ‘Death to Jews,’ and ‘Slit Jews’ throats,’” a Jewish sound engineer told London’s Sunday Times. The man had lived in the community for 49 years, but when the Times reporter recently asked for his full name, he demurred. The chants, he said, "took us back to 1938.” But it wasn’t just that protest, that suburb, that day. The New York Times has reported chants of "death to Jews” and "Hitler was right” in other Paris demonstrations. In Berlin, according to the Associated Press, protesters shouted, "Gas the Jews!” In the Netherlands, a rabbi told the Jewish News Source unknown assailants shattered a window in his home with stones. "The fact that these attacks are recurrent shows the depth of hatred that exists against Jews,” he said. ... A recent survey suggested France had the highest percentage of residents — 37 percent – who were openly anti-Semitic, reported The Washington Post’s Anthony Faiola. In Italy, one-fifth of the population felt that way; in Germany, more than one-fourth. Other studies also found rising levels of anti-Semitism in other parts of Europe. That shows an underlying hatred of Jews that has NOTHING to do with the current conflict. Jews are leaving France. This article was written on January 9th of this year: http://www.welt.de/politik/ausland/article123693713/Frankreichs-Juden-fliehen-vor-Antisemitismus.html. Sorry, it's in German only but I'll paraphrase some of the important topics:
This should be a stern warning for anyone who thinks that "it can't happen again". It most certainly can. |

Why is everyone so against Israel!? They are doing what needs to be done. And as a Christian I know this war WILL NEVER END! God's chosen people will be under attack until the end. And evil cannot win.
The world should rally behind them not join in the attacking. It's a true good vs evil battle and people are choosing the wrong side.

Viewed from the outside, so to speak, at this stage, in both history and psychology, it's hard to imagine it as anything other than intellectual inertia.

I don't get the Jew hate.
But it isn't shaved headed Doc Marten wearing goose steppers behind this. It is *surprise* the Religion of Peace. First the Jews, then the athiests, then the gays, then the Christians. Soon Sharia will be law of the land in France and many other European countries. Demographic shifts and birth rates make this all but inevitable. Just like we will be a majority Hispanic nation soon. |

A wonder if it is the influx of Muslims in Europe that is causing this.

I think this is driven by pro Arab sentiment.
The Joos support Israel. Israel is illegitamate to the marxist set in Europe, because it was colonialy "imposed" by the US and Europe upon the "brown" (never mind that they are also Semites) people of the downtrodden middle east. |

By and large, Dems support Arabs and Repubs support Israel. I just can't figure out why Jews here in the US vote Democrat. Wonder if this stuff in Europe will lift their blindness? |

LOL....Americans.
Honestly......Not heard anything about any anti-semitic acts other than the one where some clown shot and liked three people a couple of months ago. There will no doubt be the odd asshat who does something stupid, just as there are idiots leaving the occasional pig's head on the doorsteps of mosques - that is nothing new and is usually nothing more than a very limited group of idiots doing stupid things. I would imagine that when it kicks off in Gaza and Israel land as it does ever few years there will be a rise in asshattery to some degree but we are simply not hearing about anti-Semitic attacks in anything like the number that you guys seem to be reporting it. If I hear anything along these lines I will be sure to post it, but so far it seems to be same few reports regurgitated over and over again. |

Well, prior to WWII, in the 20's, 30's, Anti-Semitism was rampant all around the world, and including the US. There was a ton of Anti-Semitism here...
Not really sure why through history people have hated the Jews, but they have.... Maybe it has to do with the somewhat clannish attitude, especially back then...not sure, would make a fabulous doctoral thesis though...not that there aren't probably a bunch of history doctorates out there that used this though... Euro-weenies allowed massive immigration of Muslims into their politically correct countries which in turn do not challenge the anti-semitism or anti-civilization behaviors. |

Not sure it happens in Europe more than here overall though. I would say we are also seeing the same thing here, certainly from the occupy wall street crowd and their handlers in the Democratic party, we are seeing more rhetoric. Since we are all running down the path of socialism and spend 'til you drop economics I would imagine that scapegoats will be sought to explain the lack of spectacular utopia. Some will blame the jews, the gays, people that are "to christian", the white/asian middle class, a nebulous group defined as "rich", it's inevitable this is how it has always worked historically. |

Also, it was the allies that arbitrarily drew the lines of Iraq, encompassing three distinct cultures that cannot live in peace with each other...thus laying the groundwork for the issues with Iraq to this day...
