My bride and I are on our honeymoon in Napa.  Been trying to get reservations at The French Laundry for months but they were all booked up. I got the call 2 hours ago saying there was a cancellation and did we want a table tonight at 8pm. Let me think....sure.

I know the rules.

Ask away....

Are you going to post immediately to social media so everyone knows you spent way too much on very little food?

Or did this post cover that?

I watched a restaurant show about places like that one time.  It was showing a pizza place that had a pizza that cost over a grand.  I forget what all came on it, but I believe caviar was one of the toppings, and it got brought to the table by the owner himself and whatnot.

If you haven't been to Hope & Grace's tasting room just down the street, do so and ask for their Malbec!  Or up the block to Jess up Cellars for their chocolate Zinfandel sauce.

As to the dining, my condolences... Been there done that!

While I could afford to eat at a place like that, I couldn't enjoy myself knowing I was dropping a grand on food.  I am not hating or in the least bit disparaging your decision to eat there, I just couldn't enjoy it.

That was cheaper than the bottle of wine.  Inlaws are very big into wine and gave us a bottle of 2006 Opus One that year to celebrate the birth of our first grandson.

I thought it was a euphemism for a competitor of The Pink Lady in ciudad Juarez.  But I wouldn't know that, because Juarez is off limits.
