If you look at the Order of Battle in Janes or STRATFOR yu will see that the polish armed forces are pretty much a match for the current Russian forces by themselves. Putin knows that but too many Americans equate the current Russian military with the old Soviet Union. Putin has used bluff and bullshit as well as any dictator in the past.
