Hey guys, new to the site, was I persuaded to come over and check it out.
I'm a girl before you even ask. -.- And no I don't like long walks on the beach. Anyone wanna recommend a weapon I should get for smaller hands? |

Oh, and I'd probably look at a single stack 9mm, maybe an S&W Shield?

Did I make it in before it started?
Edit to add, try a Ruger LCR. Light, simple and reliable. |

You joined too late. If you joined yesterday, someone would have bought you a Life Membership. Now you have to settle for Bronze.

Take your question to the "Armory" tab, then hit the "General Firearms Discussion." You'll get more sound advice there, not people asking for your picture, phone number, address and shit like that.

See if you can find a vintage Colt Woodsman. These are great .22 pistols and they are ideal for small hands. I don't have a real Woodsman unfortunately. But I do have a Chinese Norinco clone. |

Welcome OP.
Here is my recommendation. Even though you may have small hands, do not discount any handgun, period, or any caliber. Do not take the recommendation of anyone that tells you otherwise, or gives you a specific gun to choose, except when that gun is being offered up due to reliability and that sort of thing. My last wife was 5'2", and had very small hands. Her carry gun ( there were a lot of different ones depending on what she was wearing ) was primarily a Springfield Micro Compact 1911 in .45 acp. Her backup was usually either a Keltec P3AT, or a S&W snub nose .357. Her other primary carry guns were a Berretta M9 ( she bought one since she was issue one as an MP ), and in one of her larger purses, a Desert Eagle in .44mag. Go out and go to a gun store with a range that allows you to rent a variety of handguns. Take your time and shoot as many as you can. Find what fits you. Another woman of the same stature may go to a completely different firearm than you would. Once you find what feels right for you, that you can shoot the best, and you purchase it, take it home and learn to disassemble it, and do it over and over, and study the operation of it. Shoot it as much as possible, and learn to to malfunction drills with it. Welcome to the site. |
