What are you hiding S&W?
|
|
|
|
I would rather spend my money on an older used S&W. Steel parts, hammer mounted firing pin, no blow hole.
|
|
|
I've seen that. I still don't like the lock. Revolvers are collector items to me nowadays, so aesthetics matter. |
|
|
I was just looking at the site after I got the email just now. Still putting that stupid frame lock on I imagine? |

They are shoddy, half-assed replicas of the real thing. I think of them as airsoft guns that shoot real bullets. |

Good topic man.
I find that its ingrained into owners too on other gun boards I go to. I then ask them to show the other side and they usually wont. |

Lock doesn't bother me. I removed it on my last revolver and installed the Apex j frame carry kit while I was at it. Shot great!

People buy new S&Ws?
They're just bad clones of the real deal. Might as well buy a Taurus. |

My main problem with the lock is the ignorant fucktard customers ( mostly internet buyers) claiming the received a "scratched" gun
Yes sports fans I have had more than a handful of people think the rounded arrow and the L were a scratch personally I have had mixed results with "new" S&Ws a 610 that I never fired an entire cly out of , it would peice primers and lock up , S&W "fixed" it 3 times and a 360PD that gave me no problems |

I got a brand new 642 without the lock for 450 out the door me three. All no locks. damn laws. I rue the day when ruger start doing it. S&W isn't forced to put the locks on their guns. They chose to cater to the few states that mandate it. Ruger has an internal lock on some of their revolvers. The LCR and New Vaquero are the ones I know of. |

Can you request one to have no lock (or have it removed) if you order a new one directly from Smith?

I don't know why people still buy revolvers. View Quote Honestly? I collect them. I love them for whatever reason. I still buy them, but I doubt that any of the guns in my collection are less than 20 years old. Is there a good reason to buy revolvers? Probably not. But if you really like them, it doesn't matter. |

Can I see a picture of this lock? I've heard of them but never seen them.
Is it like Springfield lock on 1911s that keep the trigger from being pulled? |

The lock is the least of Smith & Wesson's problems. Their revolvers can't even be trusted like they used to, with the poor build quality. Sadly, the only new DA revolver left that's worth buying are Rugers.

They aren't really "combat" guns anymore though IMO. View Quote Fail ... View Quote You're free to disagree, but I don't know of any military or police that still issue them. View Quote Most soldiers aren't issued pistols either. You must carry your pistol on a duty belt with your baton, handcuffs, spray, and radio. |

I actually know a good number of peace officers that still carry them. There are also a good number of people who CCW revolvers. |

The butthurt flows through this one. Same goes for revolver capacity automatics, like 1911's View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I don't know why people still buy revolvers. Then why are you in this thread? The butthurt flows through this one. Same goes for revolver capacity automatics, like 1911's Yeah, it sucks that humans have evolved flesh that is impenetrable to rimmed rounds now. I mean, powerful handgun rounds are sooo obsolete. They wouldn't hurt anyone. Not like the powerhouse that's the 9mm or .40. Having a limitless choice in bullet profiles is also obsolete. And who needs the added accuracy of a quality revolver anyway? It's obvious when the handgun of choice wasn't the S&W M&P when automatic weapons like the Thompson or BAR were used that they were obsolete even then. |
