How is that car staying on there? And how did they get it on there in the first place? Idioits. |

At first glance when I drove by I thought it was a car accident Looks like it's legit. He's got 2 straps holding it to the truck. And I believe it. There are plenty of idiots out there. This kind of stuff doesn't even surprise me anymore. |

I bet he is laughing his ass off on the inside. |

Quoted: How is that car staying on there? And how did they get it on there in the first place? Idioits. You back the truck up to a hill roughly the same height as the truck bed. This will put the lowered tailgate right at ground level, than roll or drive the car into the bed. (Note that I have done this several times with a riding lawn mower, but even I ain't redneck enough to haul a car this way) |

I can't imagine ever looking at the car after loading it like that and thinking "Should be fine. Let's go"

Am I the first to say that this looks really photoshopped? Especially the front wheel area of the car....

Especially the front wheel area of the car.... i agree, the car seems to be in focus better than the rest of the pic in that area. look at how clear the brush in front of the camera is, then how blurry everything at distance is. the car seems to be just as clear as the brush. might have to look up vehicle specs, but I don't believe that car would be wider than the trucks bed. ETA: might be legit, but really sketchy |

Clearly he doesn't have a orange flag hanging from the back. That's why he got stopped.

Doesn't even look physically possible for that car to remain in that position unless there are straps holding the front end down.

It's real IMO. The truck is also setting on scales, so it makes sense. If it's secured, the only violation would be the GVW.

I once saw a Geo tucked neatly in the back of an F-350. After I got done laughing it did occur to me it could be the ultimate spare.

Smokey's probably gonna get him for running over weight for GVWR at a minimum.

I'm just wondering how they got the car up there.. No kidding. I'm surprised you're the first to bring it up. |

I lulzed, The mental image i had was the car hitting a jump, playing the Dixie horn on the general lee from the Dukes of Hazzard and landing on the bed of the pickup.

Car is definitely too narrow to straddle the bed, although they could have put the right front wheel in the bed and hung the left over the rail. |

When I was 16 my buddy and I had an old Dodge dually with a wooden flatbed, we hauled many cars and pickups to the scrapper in much the same way. One time we were hauling a truck on the back going up a hill when things started feeling a bit funny. I tried turning off on one of the side streets and couldn't. We rode a wheely all the way to the top. |

That reminds me, I need to dig up that pic of the car that had all the plywood stacked on the roof, and then was destroyed while driving away. Can"t remember what kind of car it was, Golf? Pic was hilarious.

When I worked for a Porsche wrecking yard, we used to take fucked up car bodies to the scrap yard with just a pickup.
We had an old '71 1 ton Chevy long bed that we would use. Place a couple 4x4's across the bed, lift the car body on top of the 4x4's and then rope them down tight with a 1/2" rope and a truckers knot. Never lost a chassis and the cops never even looked twice at it. |

Meh. If the truck's steering isn't too light, whats the problem?
