too bad an earthquake like the one that just happened in Japan didn't happen to Japan during WWII. It would have saved plenty of lives on both sides.

Yeah, well, if the earthquake had happened in the Garden of Eden back about a week after the earth was created, every war could have been averted, too.
Sometimes you should just choose NOT to post stupid stuff.   Think before you post.

You lost respect points for that one.

No...no it wouldn't have.  The Japanese would have used this to strengthen their Morale by showing the world that even in the darkest times, they would prevail over their Enemy.

We had to bring the fight to them, no force of nature would stopped them completely.  We did what we had to do and we don't regret it, but make no mistake, while a natural disaster would have hindered them slightly, it would not have caused them to lose their bloodthirsty rage on the battlefield.

September 1, 1923 didn't slow them down

Other than them having to scrap a carrier they had ubder construction due to damage incurred.

Why would you get flamed for wishing destruction on an enemy that we were trying to destroy?

No there isn't, you should learn a little about someone before you steal their name.  Alvin York did not suffer fools or foolishness.

this posts shows lack of understanding of wwII japanese history.

tokyo was fire bombed. caused an inferno that killed more people the atomic bombs. at the end the bombers had unopposed access to japan and bombed the living crap out of japan causing worse destruction than this earthquake.

and the japanese soldiered on until the a-bomb.

so i don think an natural disaster of the same magnitude would have made any difference
