Yeahhh when he hooks his harness to the peg-steps at the top and then doesn't move it for a few steps, a 10' fall would put a pretty good yank on the harness and would probably bend that step down, leaving it barely snagged on the end, with him dangling with possible broken bones...

no thank you...

Not to mention most of his climbing is without a hookup...

200ft, 1700ft, what's the difference at that point besides how much time you have to say your last prayer?

Falling from that height would give you almost 15 seconds to think about hitting the ground.

Um, was he not wearing a safety line for 99% of that?

I'm pretty sure that's what I saw and fuck that. Especially on the top bits.

ETA: I like the tool bag just hangin' in the breeze like that.

My three responses to this video, in order of appearance-

-Meh, that's not so bad.

-Oh!  Well that IS impressive.

From time to time, I have to do maintenance work on our water towers which are 100 feet. Climbing straight up is a bitch. Even worse is when you get to the top and figure out that you left a tool you need down in the truck.

I'll leave the radio tower work to the pros!

If you REALLY REALLY had to go , would you be able to pee off the top or would you be too scared you'd fall off?
What if it was cold, would it be yellow snow on the way down?

Me, no way i aint climbing that damn thing no way !

Not a lot.

Maybe the guys that climb the BIG ones make more, dunno.

Free climbing the last part at the top?

O Hell no, never, no way, nada, screw that in triplicate.

There isn't enough wealth or pie in the world that could get me to climb that.  NO FUCKING WAY!!!!!  And where the announcer said there is no quick way down in the event of a storm, I can think of one but you ain't gonna want to use it.

No safety line... he was pulling a tool bag attached to a rope. Only safety he had was for resting.

Not scared of heights but I am claustrophobic.
If he's not in an organized union, I guarantee he's not making much. I work in a similiar occupation.
FWIW, you can die from a 6 foot fall.

The height isn't a problem, but I'm probably not in good enough shape to take on a job like that safely.

In all reality, they two guys are probably tethered together and one of them was probably clipped in 90% of the time, but all we're seeing is the lead.

Sure if he falls 10-15 ft it's gonna hurt, but they could still make it down on the rappel lines...

Oh hellls no!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't even go within 5' of cliff edges just in case I stumble,  I has the respect for heights.

Pay that man just about what ever he's asking.  he should make more than all the stupid talking heads on the news shows being broadcasted on that tower.

The ladder part was almost tolorable but when he switched to the framework and pegs no way would I follow!   Oh and I hope they don't use Chinese light bulbs up there.  They'd blow by the time he got back down to his truck.

They should hire BASE jumpers.....Complete the work and jump back down...

I am alost sick with fear just watching that.....No friggin way you could get me to do that...

I like the fact that they are wearing helmets like it'll do any good if you fall off that huge bitch.

I got vertigo just watching a video.

I like the noise of the video, very quiet except for maybe a few dings from their climbing equipment.

50% of all falls from 20 feet are fatal.

You can die just from passing out, falling, and hitting your head.  I've seen it done.
