Yesterday morning, shortly after we got the decision in McDonald v Shitstains Chicago, I (anonymously) posted an edit to the Brady Campaign Wiki page.
It looked a little something like this: http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/6594/bradyhategroup.jpg I figured, heh, it's mostly accurate, I might dig around for sources later today to put some citations behind it... But I doubt it will stay up. Well, it didn't stay up, but I'll be damned if it isn't spreading like wildfire. SnarkyBytes » Brady Campaign now a hate group? The Brady Campaign is now a hate group by law - DFWstangs Forums The Brady Campaign is now a hate group by law - Pirate4x4.Com ... Brady Campaign Is now a "Hate Group" per Wiki - Page 2 ... Brady Campaign now considered a Hate Group - ThePartisanPatriot Peoples Press Collective | Colorado Politics There were two hits yesterday by the end of the day, and they're earnestly debating adding that little tidbit permanently on the Wiki discussion section. I'm seriously considering calling Alan Gottlieb in Bellevue (30 minute drive from here) and offering him lunch at Sushi-Maru and a new litigation idea. But let this be a cautionary tale: the internet knows, and the internet talks. I had NO idea it would spread that fast. I figured it would be gone in 10 minutes and a handful of people would catch it and maybe chuckle. I've somehow unleashed something significantly bigger without remotely realizing it. ...And it's awesome. |

Take a look at Paul Helmke's page
|
|
Ok, that wasn't me, but I'll swap owed beers with whoever DID add that. |
|
That is so fucking awesome I can't stop laughing.
Good work Sir. |
|
Not sure what I'm looking for - you gotta screencap, my edits on some interesting leftist characters have disappeared in minutes. |
|
|
|
What's even funnier/more disturbing to me is how many people took it at face value without sources just because the internet said so.

Well, I did link to the Wiki article on 'Hate Group', and the consensus on the discussion part of the Brady article is that it does indeed meet the general description of a hate group. So I wasn't just blowing smoke. |

ETA: Unless that was in the original edit and I just can't see it on the screen cap, in which case disregard. |

its been locked on wiki for some time there is quite the discussion going on on the talk page looks like even if the edit stays it will get moved to criticism.
we need to keep on it :) I'm finch590 on wiki |

And that's why he's a "ROGUE-Sasquatch" as opposed to the ordinary variety of Sasquatch.

Not to hijack...much, but you ever notice how you start digging into these assholes pasts and their paths always criss-cross other major assholes?
I swear, everytime I read something regarding these peoples histories, I have to pull the tin-foil down a little tighter Helmke attended Yale at the same time that former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton and was an acquaintance of each. |

That was awsome..
But.... Oops... Dude... I think they have your address.. Isn't this technically a hate group since it protests against an established civil right? (see: McDonald v. Chicago) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.166.47.122 (talk) 22:59, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

I posted with my Wiki account further down in the discussion page with a signed comment when it became clear more people were on my side than weren't. If they want to show up here at my apartment and make things unpleasant, well, I know for sure they won't have a gun. I'll make tea. EDIT: Plus, if Site Staff wants to check the IP address that originally posted that on the article, it will resolve to the one I was posting from at around 8-ish yesterday morning, PST... |

This is fun. Liberals do BS like this on a daily basis. We need a few of these (like the Acorn videos) once in a while.

OP: Log out, log back in. Thanks for the large amounts of win at the expense of the Brady bunch.
|
|
While I think it is funny I do not believe that it technically fits. The definition I have found says nothing about rights only race, religion, gender, sexual orientation ect.

"A hate group is an organized group or movement that advocates hate, hostility, or violence towards members of a race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or other designated sector of society." Given that gun ownership is now a recognized fundamental civil right, gun owners could now definitely be considered a designated sector of society. It's just very new. |

This is awesome. Tag, and I'm going to be on Wikipedia for a while after work.

IIRC weren't you the one running FNRL with a Mosin?
Bravo to everything you are doing! |

"Gun owners" are a discrete group of innocent people currently being defamed/verbally attacked and demonized on the Brady Campaign main page for the simple reason that we are exercising a civil liberty. |

Good stuff there Rogue. Here's the other part on helmke from his wiki page.
