Been an ER Nurse for almost 30 years. Great Job, Great Pay. But don't do it for money alone youll never last. Being a Nurse isn't just about making a paycheck.

Outside construction lineman. Apprenticeship will turn most people off to it or weed out the money chasers but the light at the end of the tunnel is bright. Work anywhere you want really. Even chase storms if that's your thing. No end to work in the near future. Everybody wants lights.

EMT at a hospital based 911 system. Made about $50k last year with a good chunk of it as overtime. Best part? Health Insurance with a $200 yearly deductible is $4 a month.

Public sector and I been in many different roles including IT, management, forensics, and a combination of all the above .
Can't say what agency and I do alright and will retire in 6 years at age 44. I would recommend any young person to try and go to work for the public sector because having a monthly pension with lifetime health and dental is priceless. |

Been in the firearms industry full time since 2012, and part time before that going to 2008.
Self employed now. Once of the best decisions I've ever made. |

With your background why don't you become a PTA? They make close to $40/hr. That's more than most nurses, and you wouldn't have to start over in school. Do you just not like the field of physical therapy?

Over 21 years in Law Enforcement, with less than 4 years until retirement. I'm a Detective in our Fraud/Financial Crimes Bureau. The area banks scoop up the guys from this Bureau as soon as they retire to work in their Fraud divisions for a starting salary higher than what we are making at the end of our LE careers. I'm leaning on following that route when I retire also, but I might be burned out of Fraud investigations by then.

Crane Operator. I get paid hourly but operators at my company usually pull in $100K+ a year because of the long hours.

Mechanic for Penske truck leasing. It's not a bad gig so far. Nice job for being fresh out of the Corps.

Quoted: working in the firearms industry would be a dream! View Quote That was one of the reasons I left my former employer because the ownership decided that the perks provided from some MFGs (not saying who) were going to be "distributed" about the company to other people who weren't involved in sales. After that was brought to my attention, I realized if they wanted to actually deny me payment of almost $1400, then it would be easy to step out and not sell about $1.5M a year for them. Communist mindset is retarded and a lot of people I know understood why I dispatched them. Not a touchy subject with me......but there are good reasons to work in this industry for sure. There are some GREAT people that I hope a lot of newcomers get to meet. |

What I will tell you though is that the only reason I have my job is because I was willing to put in the work at little pay. It seems to me that the real "internships" these days is done through contract work. I took a pay cut and lost better benefits to work in a big Seattle company. It took almost 2 years but I used the advantage of being in the building to get FTF time with hiring managers. Finally found some "good old boys" who liked guns and fishing and I was in. A couple years later I was able to take my next step and actually pursue a career I wanted. Honestly I'd never be in the position I'm in without putting in those years as a contractor. It sucks making 17 bucks an hour in a city where the average home costs 800,000 but the gamble paid off. Good luck OP |

Nope, 87% of what I do is forecasting based on events and reactions and if you were a client, I would take your current documents, put into a blender with bacon and sriracha, and write up three choices of how to incorporate or reject XYZ. |

Retired Air Force currently working as a technical writer. Salary? About 60% of what I think it should be. The company doesn't agree
