I get the pleasure of staying in Johannesburg the next two weeks.

I've never been to the Dark Continent. I wanna to take the time to do the things we never had.

It has to be something that a hundred men or more could do...really 2 people. Also, something that I could realistically leave work at 4:00 PM and be back for sleep on Sunday night.

Any recommendations?

There is a zoo outside of town. Go see the white lions. They had an enclosure with 3 month old cubs in it that you could be escorted into and pet the cubs. I did this 12yrs ago, so things might have changed. I'm not much of zoos, but it was a high light of our trip.

Hookers are very affordable there. They come in all flavors. Lots of white, asian, and indian.

Go with the ones operating out of gated townhouses. You won't have any trouble with them.

Joburg is a true 2nd world city with many areas that are 3rd world. Try not to get killed, robbed or car jacked.

Where exactly are you staying..Sandton, Gauteng?

Do you have a rental car? If so I you could drive to a safari camp or Kruger Park. There are plenty of day safari opportunities as well.

If you are a big fan of Nelson Mandela you could visit all his monuments and his house, jail cell etc

Cradel of Humankind...Lion Park is close by

Get an authentic Rhodesian flag. I've made some friends that are from there, but work here about 8 months out of the year. They promised to find me an original on this trip home.
I won't know for a couple of months, but I hope they succeed.

FWIW, I ran every stop sign in a village in south africa when a ton of people started streaming out of their tin shacks into the road at the sound of the car.

I replied and I'm waiting for them to send me a project charge code so I can actually book the flight and hotel. It won't be shady and it will likely be on some kind of gated compound if it's anything like the trips I did to Brazil, India and Manila.

ETA: As mentioned above, I commuted to Brazil for 4 months. Brazil is a shit hole. India was nicer than Brazil.
