now, you know you have to watch this movie.

Avenger Grimm... starring Casper Van Diem.

What a great film, the acting, the sets, the costumes...  I pretty much thought there was about to be a soft core porn starting up sometime during it.  I made it about 15 minutes.  Horrible movie.

I love depraved humor. Always Sunny, Trailer Park Boys, etc. Shameless takes the cake when it comes to absolute degenerate behavior. Then again Always Sunny is a pure comedy. There's some pretty serious tear-jerking moments in Shameless.

I watched "Jaco" over the weekend, a documentary on legendary bass player Jaco Pastorius. Very well put together with lots of fun clips from his contemporaries. In the end it is a truly tragic story.

And Shameless didn't drop off the deep end after the first few seasons like Always Sunny did. That show went from being one of the funniest shows of all time to not even being watchable.

What moments were those?

I have been meaning to give Shameless a try, a number of my coworkers have recommended it.  I will have to give it a go!

I thought was the second best "hood" movies from the 90s.

The best was Fresh.(1994)

Samuel L as a street Chess player, Giancarlo Esposito as a mean heroin dealer, and a really good kid actor who learns the Art of War in Chess.

Stars are given based on feedback you've given other stuff, stuff you usually stream, and the feedback given by users with viewing style similar to yours.

I rarely watch a movie based on the stars, I tend to read the short paragraph with the synopsis, and see if it's worth giving it a shot. I've been pleasantly surprised a couple times by movies that were only 1 star for my account.

Watching "breaking bad" again on Netflix in 4K.....

Is it just me, or did they add more F-bombs than they did on tv?

It wasn't bad, kinda cheesy but I enjoyed it.

It came off more like some NBC show but still has potential.

"Only the lonely" was a fantastic romantic comedy with John Candy, Anthony Quinn who even old looked tough as nails, Ally Sheedy from "the breakfast club" all grown up and hot.

And lastly, the final film of the great beauty Maureen O'Hara... the role was rote for her after she had retired and came back especially for it. Much to the delight of any watching it.

I want to be careful with spoilers.

Carl, hospital room, hair clippers. Letting the sunshine in.

Monica, Thanksgiving, kitchen floor.

The comparison of Ian crying in his room after his confrontation and the family celebrating the gift baskets downstairs in the same house. Holy shit.

There's a good balance in a show about absolute chaos.

I really didn't think either of those were "pretty serious tear-jerking moments."   Then again I find pretty much everyone on that show that has gone through puberty lives in their own private hell that they've created for themselves due to their own actions so it's kind of hard to feel bad for any of them.   Or maybe I'm just a sociopath.

I gave 'Travelers' a try, but I couldn't really get into it.  I threw in the towel shortly after episode 4.

I'm now watching 'The Blacklist.' Much more entertaining.  The female lead is hot, but at least once an episode I am reminded of Charlie Sheen's line in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off.'

Imo, the first episode kind of turned me off and I didn't really like it. There's a lot of (obvious) CGI and it looks kind of corny. It's also kind of weird how the actors for the children look exactly like those from the movie.

However, I pushed through the second and I'm starting to like it a lot better.

I think that NPH does a better job as Count Olaf than Jim Carrey did.

I wish they did it with Olaf being more like in the book instead it being a rehash of the movie.

I enjoyed that. It's weird with the modern effects/editing, but once you get your brain past it, it really helps the battle scenes to unfold.

Black Mirror

Kind of Twilight Zone esque but closer to actual reality but just in the future or with a small twist.

Series. I happened to start on S3E1. Society is based on how many stars you, as a person, has. Pretty clever concept, imho. Kind of shows the direction we're going with smart phones.

They all have nasty teeth, that much is accurate.  Far too much reliance on gunplay for the time IMO, and too much "strong hot empowered woman" for the time by a shitload.  Sort of like black sails in that regard.  Still entertaining though.

Hard to judge a series by one episode, which is all I was able to stand, but I found the writing and acting to be pretty terrible. Maybe it turns around later in the series, but I'm giving up on it for now.

I have no knowledge of history of the time period.

That said, if you know history, some of the main characters would be stretching hard to be relevant. Specifically, the guy who played Kal Drogo's character in GOT's character.
