Contempt of cop is an unnecessary action in a civilized society.  He wasn't rude during a traffic stop, rather, he decided to twist the Tigers tail because he thought the tiger was in a cage.

I don't know, I have a lot of contempt for the cops in that video. I feel it's necessary.

Of course, I also have contempt for the guy who flipped them off.

Sadly, the guy who flipped them off doesn't have the power to hurt the cops, it only works one way.

The flipper-offer should have just accepted his social station below the cops and given them the respect they, obviously, deserve.

I also want to add the majority of my friends are police officers. Actually the one funny time I did a ride a long with one we saw a car doing doughnuts in a church Parking lot in the dark, when it snowed.  We rolled up blacked out, flew up on them and hit the lights. We pulled up drivers window to window. It was a young kid shitting himself. My buddy the officer said what in the hell are you doing, you could cause all kinds of damage if you wreck. The kid said, I guess I was just doing it for amusement. My buddy then said "well you should of went to an amusement park for fucking amusement".  Ended up the kid was in daddy's car. We followed the kid home, made him wake his dad up at 1am, and explain what he was doing. That was it.  Good times.

While it may be stupid, coarse, rude and socially repugnant, it's not illegal in almost any jurisdiction. In at least 2 court circuits it's defined as freedom of expression or political speech.

Frankly, I expect the people we trust with the application of law do be above petty pissing contests with snot nosed assholes on the street over a finger gesture.

If your ego is that fucking fragile, I don't think I want you making decisions much more difficult than "should I ask them them if they want to Super Size it, or let this upsell go?"

In cases like this the asshole flipper-offer actually gets the cops to stoop below him and apply the law to assuage their ego as opposed to doing so because it's the right thing to do.

Very true. Flipping off, bad arrest. If he was cursing and yelling and disturbing the peace yes. I don't know the state law where he's at.  From the video it seems he only flipped him off, but I don't know for sure. I don't see where ARS is for demanding ID, but flipping a cop off is unusual to me and maybe the ARS is a welfare check from a possible mental subject and he's just you know making sure he's ok?  No that don't fly with me either.

In Georgia I can't do shit for someone flipping me off. Freedom of speech, and I agree with it. Don't know that state's local laws.

Id have ignored his ass and kept driving. I get death threats and worse driving in the hood.
