I'm deeply partial to a nice corned beef reuben.. on marbled rye, as is proper. http://4euw4i17vsw42om1eh2xergdk4q.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Classic-Reuben-Sandwich.jpg View Quote Yep ETA: My dad makes the best reuben. It is the reuben which all others are measured. Normally if I'm eating out and want a ~$10 option I'll always pick the reuben if it is on the menu. |

You mean I can only pick ONE? Hot or cold?
Peanut butter and bacon. Turkey, bacon and swiss. Hot pastrami. BLT. All ties. |

Homegrown heirloom tomato and ham sandwich, with plenty of Duke's mayo.

LOL, I came to say "a properly-made Reuben is my favorite," but I see that it's already been nominated. Such a yummy picture, by the way.

|
Regular old grilled cheese. Sometimes with cooked bacon added.

OP is 100% correct.
Corned beef reuben is the only reuben. Pastrami is a different sandwich. Muffuletta, po-boy, Philly cheesesteak, Cuban are all contenders |

I slapped a hunk of leftover prime rib between two pieces of bread, ate it at work for lunch; it was pretty friggin good.

the greatest sandwich i have ever tasted was roast beef, gouda, sauerkraut, and roasted red peppers on rye. was a gamble, but the sweetness of the peppers against the acidity of the kraut was a thing of wonder.
am also a huge fan of the reuben, and pastrami on anything. one of my goals this fall is to start curing my own corned beef and pastrami. |
