Need a new truck (thanks for hitting me head on because you really needed to talk nonsense to some other moron) and I have it down to these 2.

Look at what a 2010 Colorado and what a 2010 Tacoma are worth today.

I have a 05 Canyon, love it.
The 15's interest me, I'd definitely give it a look if I was in the market. |

Just sold a Z71 Colorado today for 38,255.
How much is the Tacoma ? Keep in mind that our dollar is dropping and our prices are higher. A Canyon C/C SLT is 44,150. Another saleman sold the only one we had left today also. |

ETA: That sounded a little cheap. Checked another dealer and found one for $39,803. |

Don't get the first model year of any vehicle, especially a UAW made vehicle.
The new Tacoma will be out in a year or so FYI. I have had Tacomas and GM trucks. Guess which brand I had lots of problems with and the brand that gave me no problems. |

I thought that it has essentially been on sale in Asia for a few years now. The roll out in N. America is similar to how GM sold the Cruze in Asia for a few years before bringing it to the US. |

I would not buy a new Tacoma. Toyota really does not have to put anything into them. Crappy interior, weak V-6 motor. A used Tacoma, yes. If you want new then... I would go with Canyon/Colorado. I have a new V-6 Canyon SLE. Paid less than 30 for it.

Another review of the three trucks.
http://www.off-road.com/trucks-4x4/review/2015-midsize-truck-shootout-colorado-vs-tacoma-vs-frontier-54135.html And the Winner is … Clearly Chevy came out the gate swinging with its all-new Colorado, bringing some much-needed updates and refinement to the stale mid-size market. Going to the judges’ scorecards it’s easy to see why the 2015 Colorado is the winner of this Mid-Size 4x4 Truck Shootout. It was the clear-cut leader in almost every measure of our objective testing, and though it may not have topped every category in the subjective scoring, it still posted the highest total aggregate score. Its class-leading horsepower is nice, but its class-leading fuel economy is what the segment truly needed. Pair this with its great on- and off-road handling, a comfortable well-appointed cabin, and numerous value-added features and it’s easy to see how Colorado claimed the victory. |

The only colorado I would get is the zr2 concept of it makes it to production. Even then I would wait to see how reliable it is. I had a tacoma before my fj and it was a good truck. They have their issues as well though. The stock rear suspension is crap and starts to sag over time. Mine had vibrations and a shutter on takeoff. Wheel bearings wear out easily too. Only get the v6 model. Keekleberry tried to warn me about the 4cyl and I should have listened.
I now have an fj cruiser and love it. It's plenty powerful and they fit 33s stock. |

GM 305hp 18/26 mpg 100k mile powertrain warranty
Toyota 236hp 17/21 mpg 60k mile powertrain warranty The toyota will have a stronger resale, but it doesn't mean shit when you're pissing that money away in fuel and maintenance, the toyota has a higher cost of ownership. The resale value is also trending down and it's sales for 2014 were lower, that's going to lower resale and when the new model comes out it will lower the resale of the old ones. The GM truck will also have a much better transmission and up to date interior tech, 8" screen, wifi, and safety. If you buy the Toyota you will be paying top dollar for old outdated technology, there's a reason they're redesigning the truck with more power, better fuel economy, and technology.

Tacomas are probably going to be discounted when the new gen comes out next year, the new Colorado and Canyon look really good, but never buy 1st year
Friend had a Canyon once with the I5, head issues and problems before 100k. He fixed it, traded in and got a Silverado. |

you can't spell turd without TRD. hey, i'm just sayin'....

If GM makes it I would take a pass….or a recall….or a bailout.
