don't they already do this?

No need.  Most (not all) folks who make purchases much larger than that tend to use plastic/electronic for payment.  And the government will want to encourage that to help with their predictive analysis models....

why, so billionaires aren't weighted down by pocket change like 20's and 50's?

Those would be 2 reasons I support larger bills. Don't render unto Caesar a dime more than you have to.

Of course big bills like the old Dutch 1000 guilder (about $500) and the new 500 Euro are great for economic activity and transport of cash

Its really retarded that the US does not have something like that, and that's exactly the reason your .gov wont allow it.

Thanks WOD

I vote yes because it encourages tax evasion and money laundering.

We should have $200 and $500 bills.

Yes, they should print a 235 dollar bill.

...just to screw with people.

Why? Jackass at gas station still will not accept  $50 and $100 bills.

Companies will fight larger bills, higher counterfeit risks for them.

No.

A C note already covers parking, fun show admission, and a bag of jerky.

Just barely mind you, but it does cover it.

My dad used to be a director at a bank years ago. I have held a 10,000.00 bill in my hand. Now they are collectors items.

Over the years, I have had a few $1000 dollar bills in my hands.

My dad got to handle some of those once. Grandfather owned a plumbing and heating business and a guy paid for a very large job in cash and my dad was sent to the bank with it.

I have bought 2 cars and an engine for cash in the past 3 years.

I really wish that 500 dollar bills would return.   Counting 10k in cash in front  of someone is frustrating when it is all 100s.    Next cars to come will be 20k+ and walking around with Gas Monkey Garage fat stacks is nerve wracking.

Reason they went away I guess is because it was too easy for drug dealers to move large amounts of cash.    Right....   Because they have such a hard time with 20s and 100s as it is now.

20s are annoying in bulk, but $500 should be max.

It would be handy if ATMs coughed out $100s.  Whenever I do a face to face, we end up playing with stacks of bills.

YES please!!!! Bring back the $500 at least and maybe the $1000. I've never had enough to warrant the $5000 and $10000 bills but there's a lot of people out there that would use them too.

DO NOT have these a Fed Reserve notes, make them Gold or Silver certificates.

I am not dealing with a ton of cash but it is still enough for somebody to want to kill you for it.   I couldnt imagine trying to bargin with 40-50k in cash.

One of the cars I bought we met at a bank and the kid took the 11500 bucks into the bank to be counted and scanned.

Smartest seller I have encountered yet.   How is he to know if there are not one or two counterfeit bills in the bunch.    Took all of 10 minutes to complete transaction.

Cash is awesome when dealing with used car purchases.

The mint strikes coins. The bureau of printing and engraving prints bills.

Yeah when a hundred dollar bill won't buy dinner some place nice we need bigger bills.

Not quite. You're not "allowed" to leave the country with more than 10 Grand in cash....unless you declare it. There's no law stating a limit on what you can have or carry.
