Good gawd I just had a long response that I fat thumbed an accidental iPhone delete on the whole thing
Anyhow I will redo it when I have my iPad in my hand Dammit to hell, why is there not an undo button ?!?!?! Ah hell gets worse - just figured out I cut it instead of deleted it's so it was hung in there somewhere but I didn't realize it until too late. " Turn off your cell phones - movie is about to start " ETA - Got my iPad now ... So, we've had some PMC that ran great mag after mag. Then another lot in the same rifle chokes several times in a row ... it was a crap shoot. Maybe not anymore, but we gave up on it for any of our testing. Since it was so many years ago, I am not up-to-speed on PMC's current practice / reliability. Barrel might have actually had issues. Given the gas block news, I doubt it was the gas hole - not impossible, but doubtful ... and since it became NutN's next gunsmithing project, alas, we will never know. The first thing the uninformed want to do is open up the gas hole. "NEEDS MOAAR GAS !!!" While that may make a single rifle work, when you try to make thousands of rifles/uppers, you end up chasing variations. Just because you open up the gas hole in one, and it works, does not mean you found the issue. Means you shotgunned a symptom. Savvy Tier 1'ers would ask "Why do the others work fine with the same gas holes ?" "Why does it work fine at the factory ?" A few things that could have been NutN's issue ... Short shot (lower powered) PMC made even lower on a cold day ... Maybe he got his bolts mixed-up on his bench, maybe, maybe not. Maybe that steel case ammo had embedded grit into the chamber walls Bent gas tube Rough finish in gas key Gas leaks Roll pin in buffer dragging Burr on carrier Magazine issues Out of round gas rings Bad buffer springs - some come bad right out of the box. On and on. Fact of the matter is we have thousands of uppers in the field and few complaints. Hmmm, I'm betting we have more than a few rifles in Alaska and surely Freddy Meyers sells PMC. Either way, we stand by what we sell and our intrepid videographer appears to blame us for things he did and didn't say. NutN's half million viewers got his word today that "LaRue sucks" ... like I said in an earlier theread, it's been a decade long sh*t fight. ETA 2 Way back in this thread I posted had he come by our booth, I'd have loaded him down with booth uppers. The Shotshow trailer is back so I had the guys pull a 5.56 out of the gunbox, slap a Surefire can on it, run 1000 rounds through it (they shot 1,025 rounds), no oil, no cleaning. It ran non-stop, no oil, no cleaning. We shot groups before and after just for the heck of it. The tOBR ... Gunk pic ... Before starting 1,000 round run ... After 1,025 rounds - note 1st group / 1st round flyer - rifle had been allowed to completely cool but no cleaning no oil ... |

So what you're saying is "I couldn't think of what to say, Nutnfancy is 100% right."

For what it's worth, your mounts are the tits! I don't have one of your rifles/uppers but maybe some self proclaimed anti fancy does not understand nice things?

I packed my laroo in dillo dust and when I came back for it 2 years later it had dissolved into nothing.

If you physically shake the iPhone, and option to undo the delete pops up. Sometimes.
|
|
Do an 87 minute (not one second more, not one second less) video of you typing your response.
PLEASE. |

Hi Mark.
Thanks for swapping out those mounts when I ordered the wrong one. I swear it wasn't a ploy to get an extra Christmas Dillo.
