Joke of the day: A store that sells new husbands has opened, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates: You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building! So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These Men Have Jobs She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads: Floor 2 - These Men Have Jobs and Love Kids. 'That's nice,' she thinks, 'but I want more.' So she continues upward. The third-floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These Men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking. 'Wow,' she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going. She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads: Floor 4 - These Men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and Help With Housework. 'Oh, mercy me!' she exclaims, 'I can hardly stand it!' Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads: Floor 5 - These Men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak. She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. PLEASE NOTE: To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store just across the street. The first floor has wives that love sex. The second floor has wives that love sex, have money and like beer The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited. |

She is spot on with the fact undesirable women believe they deserve a mate in a higher value class thus leaving those women asking the question...where are the good men. Also, as men and women age, men often have more value to bring to the table where as women do not.
As a good looking, in shape, financially secure 31 year old man I have plenty of women to choose from. I normally date a few women casually and I am getting to the point where I am ready to commit with one. However, I do understand that it's tough to find a woman who does not have huge student loan and credit card debt, a kid, takes her health seriously, and so on. The pool of good women for average normal men shrinks as the comparative women believe they belong with men in a higher social/financial/looks group. So, the normal, average and just good guys are left saying screw it as they don't want the over weight, lazy, debt bucket that is interested in them. |

She hit part of it; why the fuck are dudes going to get married only to fall out of favor somehow, divorce, and then pay for advancing the quality of life of another person's quality of life?
The only way a person is going to be happily married is if they partners with someone who also honestly rejects the possibility of divorce as a viable option. I know it's gonna sound weird to some people, but both parties have a responsibility to the success and progress of the relationship and the quality of their lives. I remember when divorce carried a stigma, and I think that stigma needs to return. The idea that marriage is temporary is what devalued the relationship between spouses. One of the partners thinks to themselves "this is too hard" or "this hurts" and then they decide to check the fuck out instead of fixing the fucking problem. An aside, for her content, she needs to write articles for her material, rather than simply read it on a video. If she's going to sit there and read from her computer screen, that's great for her... but it sucks for her audience. For the quality of language-in-content, I don't get a chance to really absorb all of the information she's presenting. I could go back and sort the video, but that's less time for me to stay engaged... and I will disengage from the content. She needs to present it as written content, otherwise it turns into a lecture. And not a very good lecture at that. I just end up watching an animatronic head swivel, tilt, and stare downwardly as it barely modulates. |

Years ago I was sitting in the crew van going to the hotel with the FO and 4 flight attendants.
They were talking about a football game. One with big hair from TX asks me what I think of the game. I told her I don't watch football. She makes a comment about baseball then. I said I don't follow baseball either. She asks what sport I follow. I told her I don't. She says" you don't watch games on TV" I said no. She asks what I do instead. You also need to look at the damaged goods part on the male side. You have a guy in his 30s, divorced [for what ever reason] 2 kids, paying support, medical, dental, and while he may have a good job, the fact remains that he is paying some other woman for her [and his] kids and that money is money taken from the household budget she may share with him if a serious relationship happens. For a significant portion of time, his finances and time will be directed elsewhere. Yeah, you can call it a double standard if she also has kids, but then again, she is very likely the one receiving the $$$ and other support, not handing it out. HE may not look at himself as damaged goods but she will look at it that way because she considers herself to be the one that is directly affected thru her relationship with him. Modern day divorces carry serious long term downsides that society refuses to look at, this ain't the 50's and females are kept in he kitchen and the court is still decades away from pulling it's collective head from it's ass. |

Add in a healthy dose of years of terrible decisions, lack of responsibility for one's actions, and some A level blame gaming, binge drinking, a gambling addiction, two shit head kids, three boyfriends with criminal records, two exhusbands, poor hygiene, five figure debt, and you have a recipie for singles night in south St. Louis city. When they see their 7, 8, or 9 level friend happily married and buying a new house the bar flies speak of this "luck" thing that the successful friend has. I'm not really serious here. But when you go to the wrong bar at the wrong night, it certainly seems to be the norm. |
