been a while since we did one of these....anyone of relevance and no I don't mean banned members of arfcom lore...anyone famous..really famous?
|

well, there's people famous in the gun community. Probably as close as we'll get.

Jerry Miculek posts every once in a while.
But from my time in GD... I have to say, if an Arfcommer ever gets really, really famous, It's probably gonna be bad. |

Depends what sphere you are talking about. There are some pro sports guys here, some actors, some TV celebs and their crews, lots of gun industry people, a few politicians, some fairly high ranking military officers, more than a few famous musicians, and plenty of very successful businessmen.

I'd say Ayoob or Crowder.
As for myself, I have to check my driver's license to find out who I am. |

There are a number of people here who's celebrity would trip us out...if we knew for sure. There are too many references to semi-obscure threads/posts that turn up in places for those people referencing them not to have picked them up here. I'm guessing Glen Beck, Andrew Wilkow and Sean Hannity check out Arfcom semi-regularly. |

Alton Brown is supposedly a member. I have always suspected that Alton Brown and Anthony Cumia were around here somewhere. Alton Brown definitely, I don't remember his screen name off hand, foodguy or something related to edibles, but he chimes in from time to time. eta: http://209.251.48.101/forums/t_1_5/1632372__ARCHIVED_THREAD_____OFFICIAL_AB_THREAD__Alton_Brown_shows_you_how_to_cook_the_simplest_steak____ever___.html&page=1 Alton Brown = Dinnertime, over 2k posts btw. eta #2 Page 5 of this thread brings out some strong evidence that Dinnertime is just a fraud, pretending to be Alton Brown on occasion. |

I'd say Crowder or Bracken. Legend has it that a member of Aerosmith used to or does post here, but I think it's legend.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Chontosh The President of the United States Takes Pleasure in Presenting The Navy Cross To Brian R. Chontosh First Lieutenant, United States Marine Corps For Services as Set Forth in the Following Citation: For extraordinary heroism as Combined Anti-Armor Platoon Commander, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM on 25 March 2003. While leading his platoon north on Highway I toward Ad Diwaniyah, First Lieutenant Chontosh's platoon moved into a coordinated ambush of mortars, rocket propelled grenades, and automatic weapons fire. With coalition tanks blocking the road ahead, he realized his platoon was caught in a kill zone. He had his driver move the vehicle through a breach along his flank, where he was immediately taken under fire from an entrenched machine gun. Without hesitation, First Lieutenant Chontosh ordered the driver to advance directly at the enemy position enabling his .50 caliber machine gunner to silence the enemy. He then directed his driver into the enemy trench, where he exited his vehicle and began to clear the trench with an M16A2 service rifle and 9 millimeter pistol. His ammunition depleted, First Lieutenant Chontosh, with complete disregard for his safety, twice picked up discarded enemy rifles and continued his ferocious attack. When a Marine following him found an enemy rocket propelled grenade launcher, First Lieutenant Chontosh used it to destroy yet another group of enemy soldiers. When his audacious attack ended, he had cleared over 200 meters of the enemy trench, killing more than 20 enemy soldiers and wounding several others.[1] By his outstanding display of decisive leadership, unlimited courage in the face of heavy enemy fire, and utmost devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Chontosh reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service. |

Alton Brown never seems to have a high opinion of internet forums. While I'm sure he's read the site (nobody with the guns he's posted over the years could possibly miss this place), I'd be surprised if he's actually posted here more than a few times - or even at all, honestly.

There are Several big (as in internationally recognized) Celebrities that post here, Staff knows who some of them are!
