Anyone else hang on to their old school BMX bike? I can hardly ride the thing now.
PK Ripper XL frame 94 Boss Bars & Cranks JP pedals & neck S&M seat post & forks Peregrine seat and 48 spoke double walled rims. I keep the chain lubed and the tires aired up. Saved every penny the summer of 94 at the family shop to piece it together one part at a time. |

I don't have my Kuwahara or my Torker anymore but I do still have the scars and crowned teeth from the time I snapped the head tube off of my Race Inc. good times.

I had a redline and a diamond back. Both were very light and set up for light freestyle, trails and jumps. I had a little 5' trick ramp in my drive way. I would spend all day hauling ass up the drive way hitting the ramp and flat top, cross up about 8-10" in the air. Land, repeat.
I liked CW bars, laid back seat posts, GT goose neck head, the original MX pedals, I forget which 3 piece cranks I had. One bike had white skyway mags. Our favorite jumps were two small dirt hills. They were piled up when the city cut a canal through town. They were 15-20' apart, 15-20' wide, 30' long and about 10' high. They made a nice but rough half pipe. This was the same place where the 3 kids were killed in the West Memphis 3 murders. Exact same place. That happened a few years later and they leveled the whole place after the murders. |

My Brother has my Profile with some sweet Araya rims, Suzie Hubs, three piece crank and my 01 CT plate on it. The Nationals jacket doesnt quite fit like it did in 94.
I delivered news papers for months to pay for those rims. |

I won the very first BMX race at Red Bud back in 1979.
Old Schwinn converted to BMX style. |

started riding BMX back in 1971. Back then we had to pretty much build our own bikes. took a frame and chopped a section of down tube and seat tube out and welded it back up, then welded on some Honda MC bars. Robbed the three peice cranks off my sisters bike. Took the seat off my other sisters ten speed English Racer. Dug up various chain rings to find the optimum gear ratio and finally bought some knobby tires for it. Still riding today at age 53 in fact I just got home from down hill'n after I worked on a roll-in for a local dirt jump spot

I had an all factory GT Pro-Performer my freshman year in high school.
My brother took it out while I was on a school trip and got it stolen. I have tried many times to replace it, but never have. My neighbor growing up was a sponsored freestyle rider. He had a RL that would sell for over $15k today. |
