Is it your opinion we should withdraw all assets from the Pacific preemptively so we can be sure our assets won't be struck? |

I need to have an idea of how large an impact to not only the US, but to the world, a sudden stoppage of all of the integrated circuits, and other systems, would be.
|
|
Simple flowchart for me.
Is the invaded area a US State or Territory? If Yes => War. If No => No war. |
|
the merican draft for WWIII with china and/or russia is gonna be epic.
|
|
If China makes a move on Taiwan, whether they strike US forces preemptively or not, the US should use overwhelming military force against China, up to and including nuclear weapons.

I have been in two wars in my short life of 55 years old
We dont need to kill any more of our kids to do nothing in the end but get rubber dog shit cheaper |

What does a war with China in defense of Taiwan look like? Is it limited to conventional arms, or does it go nuclear? How long does that take? Is the object to hold Taiwan until China gives up, or does the US invade? How long would we be able to sustain the conflict? If the US parks a carrier battle group off the shore of Taiwan and China starts launching missiles at it, I don’t see many scenarios where nukes don’t start flying.

They’re in Africa also, so we’d have to really pull back. We’d have to renege on a lot of promises in the area as well. |

It won't matter how we feel about it. If China moves on Taiwan.... They're going to strike American bases and assets in an attempt to diminish any quick response they think we'll make.

America had to win at home first, looks like we lost.
So Taiwan is SOL |

If China strikes our Navy who are near Taiwan and we counter by striking their Navy the question is does it remain a Naval conflict. If we strike China's mainland they will no doubt strike the US mainland and that could kick it all off. America has not had war here and today's Americans do not know real hardship.

Let's rephrase it to be more honest.
Are you willing to die to defend Taiwan? |
|
If only Taiwan would let its citizens put a rifle behind every blade of grass.

We need to recognize who our true enemies in the world are who would love nothing more than to see our downfall and are actively working to try to make it happen. China and Russia are certainly among them. War is ugly, in so many ways, but letting your enemies expand beyond their own borders is sitting back and watching your own destruction in progress. Good people will die; awful people will benefit, but to look the other way as your enemy gains momentum is nothing short of foolish. Neville Chamberlain is someone more people need to be familiar with.

Fuck taiwan. Fuck china. Fuck iran. Fuck ukraine. Fuck russia. Fuck israel. Fuck Palestine. Fuck all of them.

I don't lump Taiwan and other countries in the same basket.
Ideology is one thing. You can agree or disagree with a country and defend them based on that or not. However, we rely heavily on Taiwan for our technology, which matters a lot more in the long run than ideology. If you want to be selfish, you should want to defend them. |

When you consider that we abandoned Taiwan in the 70s and built up China, only to have China bite us in the ass...
I guess if we don't help defend them, we are pretty reprehensible as a nation. Of course I may be a bit biased since my wife is from Taiwan and I love that place so much that we have plans to retire there if it hasn't been destroyed by China. |

Isolationism won’t work in the long run. It will only make it worse. I don’t think we have a real choice if China makes that move if they don’t strike US assets in the initial phase of an operation. They strike Taiwan and US ? It’s on. 2025 to 2026 are going to be interesting years
