Got a call from my dad, some ATF agents showed up at their house. They tried to look at my dad's guns to see if he had any illegal AR15s. He told them he has never bought an AR and to pound bricks if they think they are going to look at his guns. They said the 4473's said he did. Only problem that's my name on those, not my pops. After he straightened them out and sent them on their way, he gave me the call.
Apparently some dealer at one of the gun shows that I bought a lower off of was selling illegal SBRs and what not. So I guess the ATF thinks they can harass anyone that has ever bought something from that dealer. That's all I know right now. I'll be giving them a call after I post this to find out whats up. I'm kinda concerned though when someone doesn't verify an address or name before demanding to see firearms... Will update. ==== update ==== I replied in the thread already, but it looks like it's easy to miss. Putting the updated information in the first post

Don't you dare let them in your house or look at your guns without a warrant. |

and, while some will think this may be a bit overboard, it might not be a bad idea to contact your lawyer if you have one just to let them know what is up.

+1 Don't let them even look inside your house. Unless they have a warrant, meet them at the driveway. |
|

That's what I would do, post-haste. |

Agreed! |

OK, where can I buy one of those? |

Tell them to get a Warrant.
If they want to chat tell them you want an attorney. Close the door and let them make the next move. You don't need to help those guys in their mission to toss you in prison for going to a gun show. Don't be a sucker and try to be "Mr Good Citizen" and don't let their casual smiles fool ya for one second they don't give a shit about you. Busting you on anything only helps their careers and self-interests. |

No warrant, no service. Good luck, it's been nice knowing you. |

Get some soap and soap the inside of your windows. Lon Horiuchi is unaccounted for.

+2 Lawyer up; whatever you say to them without legal councel will bite you on the ass. Seriously; speak to your attorney before you interact with them. |

By the way, when does a "low post count" migrate to a "good enough to not be bullshit - post count" ??????? Is there a specific post number I should wait for till I submit my draw-down story, complete with blading and !DISENGAGE! goodness? Just curious. |
