Off of the Philippine army of course. They have been getting the shit kicked out of them. Or he may have been in the army and deserted with it, that has happened a lot too.

Just one of thousands of small arms taken by just about everyone during Aquino's coup/ouster of Marcos. They were all supposed to havebeen turned in during an amnesty program, but according to one of my former students, about eighty weapons were turned in throughout the entire country. That leaves a lot of 14s, 16s (many with 203s),60s, M2s, and whole lotta grenades in civilian(including local militias and civilian defense groups) and guerila hands, not to mention the AKs that the rebels are getting from off-shore sources.
