Like corduroy pants on a hot Arizona day, I could be wrong, but here goes. I believe it means Colt Accurized Rifle.

Only the Colt CR6724 is referred to as the "Colt Accurized Rifle" or C.A.R. "CAR" suggests "carbine" AR configurations.
