I heard a story once of a line that wrapped around a large building, obscuring the view of the woman serving the line of sailors....
apparently the woman was old, haggard and nasty, and yet those waiting in line would not walk away upon arrival of their turn.... the woman was sitting on a bucket into which she would spit/dribble the protein supplements she was being given. the face the guy made as he was telling the story made it all worthwhile. |

Marilyn's was an "interesting" place. Use to go there and Stumpy and Gimpy's Muff Divers Inn. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MR_5cvJC4Dc/UFd5WSi8D3I/AAAAAAAAD-w/vPoYY2cLhEg/s320/_DSC4987.jpg View Quote |

So...OP....was it the home of the No.1 cocksucker in the Phillipines?
|
|
Never went there.
Went to Mustang Ranch in Nevada back in early 70's when stationed at Nellis AFB. |

A Marine I used to know told me about a bar at Subic Bay that had a big moat full of alligators or crocodiles.
For $1 dollar you could buy a live chick and feed them. This was back in the late 80's. That must have been one wild place. We need more stories. |

There was one place right off Shit River - can't remember the name of the place cause my CRS is in high gear these days. They had a huge plastic sail fish hanging out front. Guys would tell their SO's they were going seep sea fishing. Do the deed inside - come back out and have your picture taken with the fish as proof you went fishing. If you got asked where was the fish you just said someone else on the boat caught it - I just had my picture taken beside it.

I was in the Navy back in the 80's, went to PI a number of times. All I can say is: ANY story you have heard about what happened in PI is TRUE.
|

I love living in the PI, when I'm not in this shithole.
It makes for a great contrast. Filipinos are all about beer, pork, and pretty women. Saudis, not so much. I did get apprehensive once when I had to explain to SWMBO what LBFM meant. Luckily for me, she didn't get angry. Instead, she tried to earn the title. |

I googled Pauline's, and found this: We head for Paulines Bar. Paulines was a famous institution in Olongapo City along with the New Jollo Bar. You name it, it was there for the asking. Live shows, exhibitionism, movies, gambling, sex, fights and rock and roll. Paulines was also the home of the infamous crocadile which was kept in a small pen outside the front of the bar on the track designated the footpath. Small children would wander up and down trying to sell ducklings for a peso each to feed to the crocadile. He was the fattest and laziest reptile I have ever seen and must have been really bored with duck on the menu constantly. Now and again a drunken sailor would occasionly get angry enough with the croc's lack of appetite so as to jump the fence and give him a belting. 'Hypo' Birmingham a burly AB Stoker tried it once and was lucky to get out with all of his body parts intact. Found the story here: http://www.gunplot.net/uptop/philippines/uptopphilippines2.html |

And don't forget the Super Club. Supper is Super at the Super Club. Sailors eating pussy on stage every night.

And the VFW club Juke box was 5 records for a quarter. For some reason they had a record of the Marine Corps Hymn. We would play that record for HOURS just to watch all the Marines jump to attention. That juke box had to be repaired quite often.

Quoted: I remember the port briefings, before hitting the beach. They would identify "The Gut" on a map and how the CO expects everyone to stay out. Then they give you specific directions on how to not get there. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: The "Gut" I remember the port briefings, before hitting the beach. My uncle was a part owner of the West End Bar in Olongapo. It was near the back gate to Subic Bay where the O-6 and above base housing was. As a young Marine it was quite a surprise when my Uncle took me there.
